Congratulations.

You have beaten us fairly.

It was getting very hectic to try to give orders the last day. People were firing when I told them to hold and not firing when I told them to fire.

Sorry Oman that only a few of us could stay till the end but we had to play with a few nasty Maas pilots which threw their tutu's at us.

..we noticed this, as some of our ships could escape badly damaged...unfortunately not all ;)

Btw: Please send in flash my congratulations. He is now number one of my "to kill" list, but with my luck (5xnothing piracy), he will join our faction soon ;)

That's ok Oli... we saw them... thanks for the coverage. :)

THAT was a nasty one... I respect the League for the time you managed to hold out.

Kristof: don't worry, we had that on all sides... it happens... especially when you have a $%*%*^! meeting right in the middle of the assault and so can't get on to make your moves so often...

Yeah, bravely fought, Leaguers. It's just a shame it turned out to be that idiot Belgian Squad that dragged you into a war neither you nor we wanted. There's still a few of you left, though. Enough to get some payback for Hoffer's Gap?

yes, well fought league. but i thought that in defending hq's it was best to take from the bottom first not from everywhere.

i came in at level1 and i am now level 7 lol. :p :p :p :p

shame i couldnt start with my first ship a level 3 which bouphi killed...... or even my level 5 which got killed in garden by arlikiel, by a lucky gatling cannon. argh!!! u lucky little ********************************* x1million.

shame u leagueys couldnt have made it slightly hard. :p :p :p

Cheek!!!

You only managed it after the TTW had already messed us up in FF and Corinthia etc. - I didn't see any Oman ships until the HQ fight, and I'd been in action EVERY TURN since tick 3!!!!So there:grntngue:

Lightspeed

So you admit that we messed you up? :D

Warspite

We werent that bad - I was the last ship out of Corinthia, and I was still at 91% shields; it would have been a different story if a great big chunk of our people hadn't been dragged into holding off the Oman - it would have been you lot legging it from FF!!!;)

Cheek! We did what we came to do...pull off some of your fighters...we didn't quite expect the reaction we got...so much for taking out 3way one at a time... :-)

Well fought, I bow to superior tacticians...maybe you guys can tach me a few things before the RavenWing goes into combat once more...

My hat's off to the MCA for sending both Maas and the Navy packing and reclaiming Mwari space. Great job there!

Yay, free scrap and levelups! :P I sent my hamster army onto the invading ships and they bit all of the pilots on the toe, so they had to retreat.

Hey, I'll be the first to admit, the MCA fought extraordinarily well on that.

Unfortunately (for all sides) the glory is not all theirs, nor is the blame all ours and Maas'. Certain issues which I will not discuss because it wouldn't be appropriate or nice, slowed both fleets at almost exactly the same time as the MCA started to really play well.

As a result they simply stopped us cold. I must say I'm impressed despite our problems.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to whine and say "Well we woulda won if it wasn't for such-and-such." The simple fact is MCA fought very, very well, and we dropped the ball.

A win is a win. Our problems weren't anything really bad, just some of the stuff that every Faction faces from time to time. We just had the supreme luck of having it happen right as we started jumping to Longshot.

Even if everything had gone our way, I'd still say the MCA would've given us a run for our money. Your organization was impressive. Me and my team would bust our rears to get a damaged ship back on the front and you guys would have it sent back to us in 30 minutes. I mean I was happy to have the work, but do you think you could have at least let the welds cool off?

All in all, I look forward to seeing the MCA in combat again. Personally, I'd rather it was with our and their guns pointed in the SAME direction, but hey, I'm a Navy pilot. I just follow orders.

I know one thing. If the MCA is there, it's gonna be a good fight now.

Lightspeed
27-01-2002, 00:54
Yep, you MCA were great! You managed what the League did not.

Spektyr
27-01-2002, 01:01
Don't bag on the League. They did a great job.

There was some behind-the-scenes political maneuvering that made a difference in the two HQ attacks. I wouldn't say it made ALL the difference, but it certainly affected things.

Ya know, it's amazing what one can learn, once one learns to listen... you can hear all kinds of stuff, even using only in-game comms.

Lightspeed
27-01-2002, 01:19
Yes, the League did a good job, but the thing is that they did not survive.

Hehehehe. The problem being, we didn't kill those ships. They kept comming back, again and again. You guys did a real nice job repairing them. They came back faster than we expected them to. I am also looking forward to fighting uz guyz again. I am sitting here trolling MCA territory for points. All the targets are gone. Even the decoys. :(

Spektyr
27-01-2002, 03:48
Your guys are shooting at decoys? Man, I feel sorry for your repairships... that sucks.

It's really not very hard to tell which are real and which aren't. I'm a n00b and I can tell the difference.

Hamsterlord
27-01-2002, 03:51
We had to shoot them. There were as many decoys in our space as there were enemies! There were old and new decoys, some were created just one turn before yall retreated. So we kinda played a game of Asteroids and blew them all up. :)

Obviously I'm delighted at the Defence of Longshot and rather cuffed at the fighting spirit, never-say-die attitude & creative tactics of the MCA, but we must give Lady Luck her due.
Don't want to go into tactical detail, but it must be really depressing for your entire fleet to shoot at a ship but have it smiling back you at 100%!

As for the "we had other problems" line, we were having our our (pointless) election at the time - defeat is never good for FCs, whether it's their fault or no. But it can be wonderful to see how everyone rallies round in a crisis.

B.

P.S. Donzer - a few things.

1) How come you don't post the levels of your kills - all bunnies?

2) "Duknor 100 -469 Ship destroyed!" Please see Taunt.

3) I'll be seeing you again soon enough. Just thought I'd let you get your carrier first so it would be a fair fight. Well "fair" isn't exactly the right word for it between ye & me; "hopeless mismatch" seems nearer the case. But at least we'll have the same kinda ships.
