In my opinion there should be three rankings: One, as it is now, the total ranking of a faction.
Two: A ranking of the CURRENT score of the faction, that is all points since last death. This will give a proper impression on strength.
Three: A count of all ships on each faction, sorted by level... That is, 3 level 10's, 6 level 9's and so on.
Perhaps you could add a kill list in there...
