View Full Version : Annoyed does not begin to describe us. NAVY look here

<A warrior paces the room> Im the public spokesman for Task FOrce Serpent, NAVY fleet. Since comms are so sticky when busy, im making this announcement here. My people and I admit a mistake. We did use outside comms for communication (icq), but on our honor we swear in all our hearts that we did not know that outside comms were illegal. On one of the responses to our supposed multying, someone mentioned that comms go down when a base is heavily damaged. Also for the first time today one of us checked out the tutorial (should have looked in the first place) and saw it mentioned there as well. We are making a formal appology to all players in general, for in doing this act we basicly rose above you all. We are sorry. however, since we didn't realize that outside comms are illegal, we are request the server moderators place us back in the game and deactivate the locks on our ships.
Now, if I have also not made it clear, Task Force Serpent comprises of 6 vessels, Steel Viper, VuoersBlade, VipersGuard,VipersTrial,VipersCall, and VipersStand. These ships are not multies but actual players. We are clarifiing that right now. NO excuses for sending in comms complaining about us. We're legit, and we've stopped using icq. We'll use ingame comms from now on. SOrry for the inconveniance, and I hope that the NAVY fighters get back to winning, as we usually do.
Fight Hard, Fight Long, and enjoy the women. !!Seyla!!

clarify? maybe you have, but thats not proof of innocence, neither is ignorance of the Law an excuse for getting away with something (as any cop will tell you...)
tell you what : why don't you, all 6 of you, synchronize watches and post on this Forum at exactly the same time ? then I at least might believe you.....
post something interesting tho huh...

its always the same
R - T - F - M first!
glad to have enlightened you guys
but if ... :dark:
then
I've been talking with Steel Viper since pretty much the day he enlisted for service in the Alliance Navy. He's a bit over-exhuberant and still pretty wet behind the ears, but he's a good guy.
I've basically taken SV "under my wing" so-to-speak, and he is a bit of a handful, given that he tends to act or speak before he thinks. Obviously, his friends all putting the same word in their name makes them look like multies. Unfortunately I didn't know they were planning to do this until it was already done. He mentioned on comms that they talked to each other outside the game (he didn't specifically mention ICQ, it was simply assumed). I quickly advised him it was against the rules and within 5 min he replied that he didn't know that and they would stop immediately. However, it wasn't quick enough to stop people from getting excited and sending Wingee e-mail to get them suspended.
Now I haven't met all 6 of them in person, on the phone, or in any way that could conclusively prove they're different people. In fact, even if I had it wouldn't prove that those ships were run by those people.
If I wanted to, I could relatively easily post 12 different simultaneous messages on this board. That won't prove their different people either. I suppose we could make them all buy webcams, set them up so that someone can observe them make their moves and thus be certain they aren't a multi.
But since when has it been guilty until proven innocent? If it is, why the hell are the Waffles still in the game? If we're just gonna ban anything that looks or smells like a multi, let's friggin' to it!
If they're suspended because of outside comms, fine. They screwed up and they know it. So what's the sentence for that? If they're suspended for suspicion of multi... well exactly what are we going to do to prove it one way or the other? These guys all go to the same school, and they use the school computers most of the time (which obviously will put out the same IP).
What could POSSIBLY prove that someone's innocent? It's easy to suspect people, but damn near impossible for someone to clear their name.
I thought that was the whole reason we can't seem to get rid of the Waffles.
I for one am willing to believe what someone tells me until there's proof otherwise. I think that's only fair to other people to extend them that respect.

Well Oly, that does look a tad odd, now doesn't it. Of course, if you happen to look at every other vessel we have attacked enmasse, guess what, same pattern. Of course the ships are swapped around, but could that be 1 person trying to make it look like 4, or what. Heres a little lesson for ya. As many pilots can attest, when a ship appears to be close to dead, its hunted down by masses of ships. Obviously his/her logs will show a jumble, as people hurrying to get the kill shot in first. It is a common phenomena that when this happens, a few pilots are going to fire, then get a message saying "sensor malfuction" or something to that extent. And of course that move is lost in the process. Now, wouldn't it be amazing that some people decided to work it out so that every shot hits home, so that there can be absolutly no doubt in anyones mind that they'll lose a turn. In Lemming's case, whose log you posted, as in everyone elses case, gets hit by ship by ship by ship by ship. When one vessel reports firing, plots refresh screen, and next pilot goes. Makes it nice, clean, and orderly. Also, it shows order and restraint. We're working to be a professional squadron here. Control is essential. :D
Coordinated ?
If that is what you are calling coordinated I'd give you a lesson of my own.
here we go :
Ask Warden what coordination means.

Snake? I thought it was chicken! Tasted good though. You should never trust those guys at the canteen... Gang of jokers, all of em.
New tactic:
1. Get a bunch of friends together and start a fake multi.
2. Wait for inevitable knee-jerk response.
3. Use your 'multies' as lvl 1 shields for larger blockade runners.
Funny, how people will totally ignore good firing discipline to shoot at a suspected multi...
...allowing bigger ships to sneak by and pound the hell out of someone elses HQ.

Anybody can say anything about effenciency, but think about this. I and 4 of the Vipers (VipersCall bought it in Liberty..oh well, everyone needs a Martyr) have succesfuly run...lets see....5 blockades, with a single loss. That wouldn't be so impressive, if it wearn't that we were all lvl 1's for each run. Now, we're running around leveling up on everybody else and hardly taking a scratch. As I said, say what you want about effeniecy, but we got it where it counts.

Incidentally, this was an accidental tactic, that seemed to work somewhat well. But it is something that could be done again intentionally. The laughable knee-jerk response among pilots to preferentially target ships they believe are multies allows a psychological warfare tactice described above.
