Even interested in changing the game?
Because I have seen no evidence of such and there sure is a lot that could do with changing.

I think it's more a case of not being allowed to by infogrames, or atleast that's what people say...

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Celt for changing his avatar. :) By the way, Celt, why are you jumping out of the battle at near full health? I was planning on lobbying for you as a target.
Besides, if we bug them enough, they have to change the game.

order's :/
EOC Online is, as it is. It was developed by us as a promotional tool for Edge of Chaos. There is no on-going service contract or anything like that - any time a bug or change is made by me, that is done in my own spare time - it is not my job, nor am I paid to do anything to the game.
If you like the game, you have to make it known to Infogrames and to Particle Systems. By looking at the board, and seeing that this is one of the busiest boards they can see how into EOC Online the players are, but if you don't email them, write to them, and tell them how much you like the game, and how much you'd like to continue playing the game, I doubt the situation will change.
There was talk early on in the project about some time in the future hooking up again and discussing new features etc. but it doesn't look like this will happen anytime soon. Please support EOC Online if you've got it by dropping Infogrames and Particle Systems an email telling them how much you like the game.

I'll email and tell them (the truth) that I bought EoC because of EoCo

Not me, man! I found EoCO when I was looking for help with EoC. :) Now I play EoCO more than I play the game itself! In reality EoC was a promotion for EoCO. I will be writing them a note here now.

same
No matter how much you try to keep away then you always come back (don't you lovemoose, davis etc)
I love it. I have changed factions and find that I am instantly involved. Newbies too must feel that way.
It makes you feel so involved that you forget it's "just a game" take my recent spat of mails to my colleagues. It got really heated and in the end I felt as though no matter how hard I tried being in charge was not gonna be effective for the faction so I left. ITS A GAME - NOTHING MORE but I took it too seriously and that I am afraid is because this game is too good !!
I will create a vote thread and then you guys can create a sort of petition for me to forward to particle and infogrames so they can pay the boys at Vision some money for improving the site. They can think of ways of getting money (sponsors and such) . I assume that is the trade off really
MONEY or NO UPGRADES. However that is a later consideration

That means you don't really know who The Third Way are. Heheheeee. Trust me, after you meet them in the game, you will never ever want to play as TTW again in EoCO. Annoying little mini-hitlers....
Heh, I heard of EoCo and played...I'll never buy EoC, for, I have the first game and.....shhhhhh...I hate it! :)
Personally, I tried the demo of EoC (after finding and playing here, natch...) and didn't get on with it... but it still made me go and try a demo that I wouldn't have otherwise tried.
When the next incarnation appears, I'll probably try that too... so this site definitely works as a PR tool...
And yes, I have bought Infogrames games in the past - Unreal Tournament for one... but I'm pretty sure there's others that I've forgotten.
Total Annihilation appears now to be owned by Infogrames, didn't remember that though. Love that game, too... still play it occasionally. :)

The original North and South. Now there was a class game. Infogrames did that one, too.
I borrowed I-War 2: EOC from my mate. I didn't think much of it, so he got it back.
This version of EOC is much better.

My first purchase of a computer game was the Independance Wars Special Edition. I installed it and less than a week was shopping for my first computer so I didn't have to share my playing time with the rest of the family.
Then I signed up for the IW2 multiplayer beta test and was off merrily getting blasted when I got an email from someone at infogrames asking if I would like to beta test an online version of the game.
It's been almost 3 years now and I have tried several times to quit or cut down the amount of hours I have spent with all forms of this game unsucessfully. If they had a clinic for people addicted to online gaming I would be first in line cause I can't quit, can't sleep can't even leave the house for more than 3 hours at a time. :confblue:
I should ask infogrames if they considered the psycological effect these games have on people like me when they created them. :wierdblu:
