RL got too complicated & demanding - or was that the game? Anyway, I had just about given up this time-based i'net thingie when I logged-on to say "Goodbye"...
But I'm in a new fighter, Mirage18 is no. 2 in the charts, has *far* too many kills to his name & is severely not dead yet.
There is one challenge left for me - to off the most deadly pilot EoC has ever seen. Be assured, I'm working on it...
BTW, a lot of pilots talk about how you're just *too* lucky with the old ERDs, LDAs, etc. All I can say is that Boris is coming for you. You can meet him fair & square or you can explain it to your God, your Mother & your Self.
Hmm... Talking to myself again... Anyway, some stats.
I wondered if maybe I should target Kush, who seems a lovely person & whom I like a lot so obviously ought to be killed in as vigorous & friendly a manner as possible. But that thought lasted all of the 1/2 second it took my eye to move down the Kills column.

Mirage thinks he can walk around with triple figures & decent folk won't notice, does he? Well I'm afraid the screams of the slain are getting too loud & too numerous to be ignored.
Dare you to move out of home base, M18. Dare you to take me on on horseback - choose your system & bring your squad. You've got 6 levels on me now, but you know full well that that won't be enough if I catch you without an army around you.
Of course, I intend bringing my own buddies, plus grenades!

face it guys its ruslab.. he had 130+ kills in game 1 and all he did was hide... in game 2 he was cargo pod cheating which was why he was rank 8 before anyone else was rank 6... clearly its the same guy and clearly he still has the piracy cheat (gatling cannon 5 times a round anyone?).

From what i gather ruslab18 was deleted around turn 80 in game 2... about turn 140 mirage18 showed up.. go figure.

Hmm, RusLab has gone long time ago. "cargo pod cheating"?? :confused: Poor ruslab :) "gatling cannon 5 times a round"??? :confblue: He never knew he was so deadly dangerous :) I would say it's not true. In my opinion, he was not that bad, especially before all this mess in game 1 ;)
But if I don't kill you, who else possibly could? No-one can live forever, so someone has to...
Anyway, it'll do you good. Think how it will enhance your understanding of the death experience, as seen from the receiving side.
Fact is we're enemies this game, so I'd rather be good enemies than bad enemies. En garde!

Nice to log in and see Omans ruling half of the map after two months of my inactivity. Damn, I need sometihng better than modem. Soon .......

- noone making kill rankings ? looks like only I'm the psycho :cry:
- who maintains current faq ? if anyone ....
Damn, you're right.
I had an inactivity period for a while. Just make moves a couple times a day, read few comms but now I'm active again.
I think your FAQ is still circulating somewhere. We used it in the League before our destruction. Oman is using something different now.

I don't remember such a cheat. Maybe he just levelled up quickly by luck. If there is a cheat... then he probably won't use it.
He does have honour :rollani: I know this first hand. Which leaves me to believe he doesn't cheat.
As for Boris. You were the infamous person to kill in game 1 and now you don't have the same appeal. Where as Mirage does. He will be the target of every ship out there. Poor Guy.
Saying that though I have died over 10 times now so I must have a looooot of enemies.
I am now levelling up again and am gonna see if I can make it to level 6 before having my ship scrapped by a group of 10 big guys

Dunno what cheat you mean shed, but there used to be a "feature" in the game, that enabled you to get anything you wanted by doing piracy. Wingee fixed it, but in game one it was still operational.

Wrong.
Of course, what he does with the ERD's is possible. It's possible to get an ERD if you do piracy, while being shot at in mid turn. It's possible to do it 3 times (that's how many I noticed, 2 were in the same turn). It's possible but not probable. Who of you would risk piracy if you're taking fire in mid turn if you still have moves to jump.
Ruslab18/Mirage18, same guy. Mirage had the super shields in game 2 and the ERD trick was also this game. Ruslab could do repairs in a fighter. He did a repair on me in game 1 and I said it in the forum, without mentioning his name, to see if it was a bug or not. I also heard the same thing from other people.
whatever.. we all know he cheated in game 2 anyway 200000 shields anyone? if u are happy to do that than whats the big deal about using a piracy cheat.. i just find it quite incriminating that ruslab vanishes (i had been talking to wingee and he mentioned getting complaints about the speed of ruslabs rank up - day later no ruslab.. go figure...). Then a week or so later we get another russian.. with another 18 after their name with 200000 shields in a rank 1 ship...
whatever the cause i will still treasure that moment in game 1 where the ttw sos caught ruslab and kicks the hell out of his ship and sector scans.

I think maybe it's time I told my part of that story, though I've avoided it coz the memory was too sore & I didn't want to sound bitter.
The night before I ordered TSWNN, who had kept Baal clear for days, to switch to Laza on Saturday. I did not want to, I explained, but the much-vaunted bloody Angels were making a complete hames of the defence & somebody had to sort it out.
So you can imagine how I have felt ever since, wondering how things might have been had we stayed in Baal. Could you have even killed a corvette, with our top repairers pumping out their healing beams? Would you have dared to fire at all if you'd seen the deadly No-Name cruisers lined up waiting for you? And what a terrible revenge would we have taken on any that did?
The funny part of the story is how we killed Britnoth in a blind rage of revenge the same turn! There were some strong words as I tried to point out that we had killed the FC not of our enemy but of our only potential ally...
The memories are still vivid, for the drama & high tension of those days has not been matched since. I doubt g1 will ever be bettered, since it contained all aspects of war - even the Long Siege of Longshot was outstanding (though boring!) for the concentration, resilience and dedication displayed, especially by the smurfs. The Oman, of course, were the finest faction that ever were or ever shall be.

To answer your second question let just say it's been passed around through different factions and modified but the Alliance Navy Pilots Manuel is probably one of the only copies that gives you credit for the original publishing as well as maintaining the credits of all the original contributers. I am the one you will need to sue if you had legal claim but since your name went with every copy as the author and the fact that I have nothing of value it might be a worthless cause to pursue. I think we all Thank you very much for the hard work you did putting it together and hope that you see the different factions using it as a compliment and not a rip off. :coolred:

The Oman remember that cheat all too well watching the league exploit it to the max they had entire fleets of decoys in every sector it was appalling I'm not blaming all the League players in G1 because it only takes a few to make everyone look bad but from what I remember Galaxina had egg on the face because RusLab18 wanted to be FC and have access to that commanders panel to mess with the codes. Word is he's as good as Wingee in messing with the game codes but that's just a roomer :wierdblu:

thats not what i said to the guys when we blew the hell out of the bloody angels in lucifuge and came and kicked the hell out of baal even after "oman sympatising" hackers wasted our bets pilots :)
hum... oman hackers... wait a min... mirage18 with 50000+ shields.. sounds like an oman hacker to me... i wonder if he knows anything about ships with super combat skill capable of doing 150000+ damage per shot..
all fishy if you ask me, especially given the hard feeling ruslab had after we got him.. after all the hacker claimed he was striking back for ruslabs destruction.. it was probably ruslab / mirage or whoever who wasted the ttw fleet in game 1
Hackers killed g1 in the end, certainly. But the Oman were hacked as much as anybody - I thought at the time that there were probably several ppl doing it.
BTW, I am not nor ever have been a member of the bloody Angels, but I don't remember any Oman attack on Lucifuge in g1. Sure you're not mixing up games?

Think the BA's made an attack on lucifuge when i was there (might have been gravedigger thro?) :confused:
trust me they hit lucifuge about 15 rank 10's met our defence fleet and got toasted :)
was about 2 days before the game ended
So what about it then, big boy? Let's get it on in the free space afore admin roll up this game.
Me & my buddies are only flying destroyers, but name the sector, note the turn and number the levels we're allowed to bring (including you & me!). Just send me a Private Message through this BB and you know we will be there.
Just so long as the turn gives us a time (510?) & the levels give us a number (30?) we can meet.
You know we won't bring anything but our ships. But I don't see any fair way of compensating you for the enormous advantage in individual skill which our pilots will possess. We could use the mouse with our left left hands...? Maybe wear a patch over one eye...
