hmmm, before/after, ice-cream/chips, beer/wine, Groucho/Harpo, Dubya Bush/A Plank, now/then, Spam/Jam...... oh I dunno... I'm rubbish at decisions sometimes...

so what is the point that the game isnt stopped?
I'm sorta thinking (hoping) maybe somethings going on behind the scenes @the owners place... shed?
other than waiting for snow-boarding season to end... =)

i figured this is just a good time to search for exploits that can be patched, plus it gives the coder(s) time to fix anything else found wrong during the last game in time for the next game..

plus I want my lvl10 before end game!

Ah, the game ended for me now. Finally the Oman in Longshot HQ got me :) Hope the 4 low Ranks that I wasted in the last two turns aren't too furious :)

NO I won't sign in anymore before the Game 4 starts.

It is Freespace 2. In my view, the best ever space combat sim. Ahead of EoC and then Tachyon. :)

Yes it is Freespace 2! And so fare I remember, short after the command say this words, the Colosus was Scrapped by a Shivan Battleship!

just to continue getting "off topic" - hey that is the magical search term for the admins ... damn now we can expect this topic to move to "off topic" ;) - :

EoC has the better Space-Sim feeling (concerning the steering of your ship) but in my opinion Freespace 2 still has the best atmosphere of all SciFi games that I know. Though I-War 1 and EoC get close they miss a bit of the dark scenery of FS2. The aliens of EoC cannot compete with the Shivans.

The only game that has a better atmosphere than FS2 is the good old TIE FIGHTER (CD-ROM collectors-edition, of course). But that game is so old that I can only run it in pure DOS and the graphic is that much out of date, that it does not really count anymore.

I donīt think that Tie Fighter is so good! The old Wingcomaders (1&2) have mutch better atmosphere! Kill the Catīs kill them all!!! :D

Spamming, eh? FS2 is an arcade flight-sim set in space, physics suck bigtime. :p Best space sims are Elite and Warhead. ;)

Last time I used "off topic" in one post an Admin (not Moderator) posted something like "did someone say off topic?" and moved the thread to the off topic section of the board ....

I think it is just a matter of time ... but maybe now that we are openly discussing on this they won't do it .... ;)

With the many cutscenes WC3 had a better atmosphere than WC 1&2.

Btw: Does anybody know if WC 1 or 2 works on a P4 ??? As my original floppys are broken (sector-errors) I downloaded it from www.abandongames.com - Unfortunately it does not work, even when I use a DOS 6.2 bootdisk. As Wing Commander Kilrathi Saga has never been released in Germany, I see chance of getting it, now.

No!!!!!!! I do it with my secend PC a 486 66MHz! There it workīs fine! But for WC4 it is to slow!

In my opinion,the best one so far is Privateer 2.That was one great game!Lost count of how many weeks I spent at the PC just to play that game.
As for Freespace 2,that's a great game too!The Shivans were great enemies(although frustrating).I hope they make a Freespace 3.The Shivan mystery should be continued!
And I think they should come out with I-War 3 too!

Privateer 2 "The Darkening" is a great game shame i can't run dos mode now (lost the CD drivers for dos :( )

I think I have a copy of Wing Commander SOMEWHERE.......
It's good to see that there are some space combat sim buffs.In Singapore,the community is VERY VERY small.Stores are always chock full of those games(yes,some shops have yet to sell 1 copy of Edge Of Chaos,and in some cases,Independence War :( ) because no one is interested in them.They'd rather go play counter-strike(mumble.....grrrr).
These people say taht playing such games make them dizzy(doesn't CS have the same effect :confused: ),that it's not fun(bah!),and that it's complicated(How so??!!).
Not that I don't like CS.I play CS too,but I'm getting bored of it,and I think it's high time the CS community switches to something else.
