I deleted my account, but after i readed a Kudo's Msg saying better not deleting (cause cheaters etc...), and then i decided to sign up again...a bit late i guess :rolleyes:
your account might not have been taken, I heard somewhere that your old nickname gets locked down after a deletion until the start of the next game.

ummm... no... I checked this before I posted the advice... I was able to delete Oddyseus from the game, and then rejoin using the same name and email account.

really.
I deleted the account - I tested the deletion by trying to access the account... got "login failed" message - then signed up again with same name and email - got password in mail + accessed the account.
I even cut+pasted the name to make sure there was no error.
I also had heard before that ppl have had problems rejoining under the same name... but I had no problem at all.

because this was implanted to make sure that people don't delete and join the faction they want...
would be interisting to know if that is possible again...

the only statement made by Wingee on this Forum about this was given at the start of Game 4, he said...
the choose your legion bug has been fixed
there was no details given of what was done to fix it... I tried to get an explanation from him of what was done, but got no reply...
I know from testing it myself, that it was and is still possible to start a new account (and possibly anytime you are reassigned - like when your base is dead and you die), and if you get assigned to a Faction you don't want, hit back, wait a while, hit the next button again and you can be assigned a new Faction... this is also proved by the number of "veteran" players ships who have had new higher number ID's each game - and btw... most of them still were able to use the same name as before.
that exploit was the most used way of "choosing your Faction", and was certainly never fixed.

well, i know how to choose the faction i want, but the "bug" got fixed so far, that if you hit the back-button, you're not able to choose a different faction! i tried it so far...
as far as i know (and i don't know it better ;)) you can't rejoin as the same nick with same e-mail adress until the game has ended... well there are ways, but not nessecary to post them here, right?

as I said earlier... a simple process of *delete account > signup again with same details* worked fine for me yesterday.

it's not new information. in fact it's very well known... all DS members know it at least, and we hear DS has very large membership... I daresay the hawks "Pirates" system has spread that info around a lot and I suspect everyone playing since G2 knows it - when it was posted many times on this Forum.
at this point of time - when the game is clearly in either it's death throes, or a time of serious change - I considered whether posting this and spreading the info further was a good idea.
I decided it was... because if the game gets work done to it, this is one of the things that should be dealt with - and pretending it isn't there by saying nothing won't get it dealt with.... if the game dies it won't make any diference... and if it struggles forward in it's current state, then everyone should have access to this information - the game will be a mess anyway.

"YOU MUST NOT delete your account and try to rejoin..."???
choosing your faction is cheating... and against the rules..
