Oh we're around. ;)

I remember looking up the release date for Driver 3 before for someone else, but I can't remember the exact date right now. So all I remember is that it has a release date of sometime in 2003...it was probably the 1st quarter of 2003, but don't quote me on that.

As for the official site. I don't there is one yet. :(

To provide some background on the problems the admin and moderators had with non-English language posts...

In another forum awhile back, we had run into the trouble of many people posting non-English threads and replies. Unfortunately, after some discussion amongst the moderators and admins, it was agreed that using non-English languages inhibited our ability to do our job in making sure that the thread/reply was not offensive in any way or form. We will accept an occasional foreign word here and there (as long as we don't hear anything else complaining about it), but we no longer permit an entire thread/reply filled with non-English text.

You're dead right mate – but on this site the moderators are hopelessly lax :grntngue: or even completely absent for long periods.

No one knows if there even is an Administrator after Alex Poole mysteriously disappeared several months ago – we're not even sure if he was a real person or a fairly sophisticated bit of AI software.

It's not a question of insulting, it's a question of "sharing"...have you ever been in a room where a couple of people speak in a language nobody else can understand? Not very charming :rollani: I thought that would be a very basic concept, still we have to go through it over and over again

I'll try and find the site I found before with the information about the release date, but if you do a search for driver 3, there are loads of sites with tons of info on them. You may even find the release date of the game before I get a change to post it.

Yeah I agree some are very lax...I'm just moderately lax. ;)

There are also some moderators who have seemed to disappear. Someone should get in contact with them and see if they’re still up for the job.

Ify in the Stuntman forum has been trying to become the moderator for that forum. He's sent PM to both administrators and still no response. So who knows how often they drop by.

I wouldn't mind moderating some more forums also, since the Desperados forum is pretty dead lately. :(

Sorry Di – nothing personal!

I just got an email from one of my (German) cousins. I can understand about half of it. I get my mother to translate such messages for me – and reply in English.

It's harder than you might think. I have to word everything very carefully to make it easy to translate, and make sure I don't use any slang or word-play. A pity, as she has a very mischievous sense of humour. Language is such a great barrier to communication – we all ought to take up Esperanto... :wierdblu:

The moderators are NOT employed by Infogrames, therefore they have the same access to information as you do - no more, no less. When somebody receives an answer to his/her question, it is only because the mods have spent some time doing the same research you can do. Moderators are not omniscient, are generally people chosen as they've supposedly shown a willingness to interact with people, mediate in case of confrontation and help when they can. This is a forum, any member is here to help, it's not a helpline from Infogrames with the mods as customer service representatives. The mods don't receive any sort of compensation, no money nor free games.

By the way, it´s nice to see that finaly the moderators woke up! They are alive.
As said above, mods are simply members and not employees; they have a job or are students like you, in other words they have a life also. They spend a considerable amount of time here trying to "moderate", ie ensuring that the forum rules are followed. Break a rule and you can be sure a mod will appear (not to answer all your questions)

Oh yeha, I still remember Alex. He was a good moderator
Wrong. Alex wasn't a good moderator, he was an extremely good administrator, ie employed by Infogrames, working at Infogrames offices at least 9 hours a day and doing his job very well. If he wanted information on a release date, he could just speak to his colleagues and get an answer.

One more thing:
I haven´t altered the post, so you may run any on-line translator there and see that it hasn´t any ofensive word!

I never doubted that you would want to insult anybody (plus I understand a bit of Portuguese); why shold I use an on-line translator when the forum rules are very clear: English is the only language to be used. Using another language is breaking the rules

Joao, no need to apologise! ;) To be honest, someone else's attitude disturbed me much more than yours. I just wanted to clarify who we are and why we can't always satisfy everybody's requests. Yours was genuine frustration and it's taken as such, I thought that you deserved an explanation. Be sure that everybody - members and mods - do their best to help when they can :)

Very well explained tenebra. :)

I'd like to add to this comment however. It's not just anyone with the willingness to interact, that is appointed to the moderators position. Moderators for their respective games also have to be very knowledgeable about that game.

So for me, since I moderate the Desperados forum, I need to show Alexp that I knew a lot about that game, and since I had my site up before I became a moderator, this is what I showed him, to prove that I knew a lot about the game.

We are just like every other member on the board, but we've been given the ability to manipulate different posts and threads, whenever we see fit that.

That´s nothing special.....normally no 18 year old is able to buy a brand new car here as well...My car was used as well....by an old grandpa....gosh....it smelled over half a year in that car from that old man.....was he dead ? I don´t know....but it smelled like that....and the doors inside looked like someone has tried to bite into them...very scary.... :bigeye: ...well...I paid about 6000€ for it....I had spent a lot of money that I get from working on holidays...well....afterwards I finally got my car and the smell of death was away....I started some modifications.... :grntngue: :dark:....ohoh....btw....I never really examinated my trunk that much....ohoh...may this old guy still be in there... :eekblue:

I´ll correct my answer:
Administrator (if there is one in here) what is the release date for Driver 3?
Now, since we are talking about licenses, in Portugal you can start having lessons at the age of 17,5, but you can only go to exam with the age of 18. But, if you buy Driver 2 (I won´t mencion Driver 3, since probably Wolf and some others get a license before the game cames out!) or any other game (like Gta3) you don´t need a license :D. And better, you don´t have to worry about the pedestrians, or hit another car :D
