just wonderin' if atari was thinking of re-starting the xcom aliance projet?, since its kind of joined up with infograms who were making it before but went on to can it.
sorry just a game series i've always loved thats all!
xcom:alliance (the Tactical Team-based Rainbow6 style FPS) is dead as a dodo, thankfully imo considering xcom:enforcer.. but no doubt someone will produce a Tom-Clancy-in-Space game soon enough... probably not xcom series tho.
infogrames, the word is, have given the rights to "xcom 4" to sir-tech, the makers of the Jagged Alliance series, and they're currently building a new Turn based strategy/RTS with the Aurora engine (NeverWinters Nights). Expect that next year, should be good... since sir-tech ppl seem to be unrepentant TBS raincoats... as long as Infogrames dont ruin it...
but.. in a few months.. UFO:AFtermath (http://www.ufo-aftermath.com/pages/headquarters.html) will be released by Altar Interative.. and this game looks like a true descendant of the original xcom series... it did have the xcom license in early development, but no more - infogrames - but clearly has the spirit of the game (globalscape, R+D, hopefully spooky music).
