View Full Version : Terminator 3.......a Budget game?
Bought the game yesterday(gettin quite excited), installed today(gettin goose pimples"nearly there"), started it up(lookin good, can't wait to play),adjusted graphic settings and control settings etc......then the time comes where you don't want to click start but you just gotta start playing and be amazed....so I click start/done and I sat back in my chair and said........"WTF is this ****!!!" I have just wasted 20 quid so I reinstalled just to check and yes it is still ****...were they pi**ed at the time they wrote it? they have alot of patching to do if they think it will match any other on-line FPS.....Be interesting to know anyone else's opininon :sour:

You should have read what they were saying on the Atari US forums - they were baying for blood. At least the online servers will actually show up now. I don't think it was designed as a single player - it will probably come alive as a multiplayer game. I loaded it the other day, but haven't had chance to play it yet. Judgement is reserved...:lightbulb
Yea..just had a look in the US forums...they aint happy but I read a post that really sums it all up "what do you expect from Atari?...a good game?":sour:
Why couldn't they release the console version to PC and not come out with some lame pile o S**T!
Hope they are reading all post relating to T3.WotM :eekblue:

Wishful thinking, but if the last few weeks since its release are anything to go by, then no.
I'm happy to see that a moderater does post on the forum! (or even acknoledge the game exists) On the US forums, no mod or Atari representative has spoken out against the overwhelming complaints that are STILL coming in. I too bought T3:WotM on the release day. After a week without a excuse, patch, or even an whisper from Atari, I took it back. Why? 'cos I'm not spending £35 on a online FPS that doesn't meet any kind of requirement to be a playable game. The graphics are par on the original UT, the bot AI is shoddy at best (even though bots were never meant to be a long term part of the game, being an online FPS and all) and the hit detection was unbelieveable (I refuse to believe that a human can go around perfectly fine after having a lazer go through them. Never have and never will :D) Instead I got something that does work (Call of Duty) and stated this fact on the US forums. However, I very much doubt Atari have read it. Or even care.
It's a shame, as I was really looking forward to the games release and had all the good intentions of being a great team based FPS, but when you have things like Return to Castle Wolfenstein or even Enemy Territory, which is FREE, bug-free, and has constant support from its developers.
Anyway, to those that are sticking it out and keeping the game, I wish you all the luck in the world, and hope they eventually sort it out.

Mal, I just want to point out that Mods are NOT Atari staff or anything - we are just civilians like you. Civilians with super powers ....:lightbulb
T3 does not impresss though does it? I played it yesterday, and gave up pretty quick. Perhaps it will work better online, but I don't fancy it through a modem:rolleyesa
Tried Temple Of Elemental Evil straight afterwards, and that was a peachy game - I've never been into D&D, but it was fun , and really well produced. There was care in the voicing, the artwork (very nice BTW). In short - a game from Atari that could be from an entirely different company compared to T3. Wild variations in quality control like this shouldn't really be allowed in 2003:rolleyesa
BTW If you fellas ever want to have a natter, we are generally to be found lurking in the "Others/Off topic" section. New blood welcome, we're starving..I mean, new faces welcome, anytime:confusedb

lol, point taken :biggringr But understand you're the nearest thing to "official lines" most of the T3 players have gotten to (so feel even more powerful for a moment mate )
I agree, don't go near the online MP with a modem, I have a cable modem connection, and it lags like hell. I'd say if you tried, you'd be close the the "ping from hell."
I might take a look at Temple Of Elemental Evil. I've always beena sucker for a good RPG, so it might be fun.

ToEE is my first D&D game - you pick 5 little pals, then wander around towns killing pirates and bribing clerics - I really liked it :) I Have no idea what I'm doing, but it looks so cute it doesn't matter.
Maybe I'll have a go at T3 online when :-
1) (IF)it is PATCHED
2)there are more dedicated servers
3)I am not using a modem:rolleyesa
Till then, its little elves and paladins for me
Laters!
Well I play T3:WotM with a modem...and personally its not that bad...but, I have a problem with the game(like..Never)...the prob is thechnically you could say I cheat, but not of my doing . All the player models for some reason don't render properly to the screen instead they are either white or grey, tried various settings but nothing works  (does spoil the game even more:cry: )the only thing I can see what the prob is,is that my Geforce4 card doesn't support Dx9.
Has this game been reviewed in PCGAMER?? or have they thought its not worth wasting ink over?

The characters render fine on my Geforce 2, and that supports DX9.0b -but I have seen Geforce 4 cards on sale that specifically state they do NOT support DX9.
Have you noticed how enemies just "blink out"of existence when you shoot them? They don't explode or whatever ;and the characters running around , with their rifles going up and down like their arms are chopping wood - what is that about?!
Have you also noticed there's no blood/hydrolic fluid effects,
Have you also noticed the movement of footsoldiers across the ground it's like moonwalking :lolblue:
Have you also noticed............................
Have you also noticed .........etc the list will go on and on....
The first patch will be split over 2 CD's :lolblue:

What do you expect mate? They've been exposed to the gaming hell that is Atari.
Might aswell add my name to the growing list of people here complaining about T3:War Of The Machines.
I'm not seeing any game servers, the SP is crappy to say the least.
The graphics are just poor in every respect ( whoever did the character models needs to be shot ) and to top it off, PS2 and Xbox gamers get to laugh at our Superior Machines with our Sub-standard T3 game.
If this is really whats to be expected from Atari from now on , I'm pretty sure i WONT be buying another one of there games ever.
Should start a poll,"Does ATARI really SUCK and BLOW?:lolblue: :lolblue: :lolblue:
