Another site in a long line that uses Flash for no good reason whatsoever. Anyone any ideas why so many games sites use it? It's not like most of them actually do anything with it that couldn't be done with DHTML and standard images, and the clients would have to work a lot less hard too.

(Me got aging pc and no intention of buying a new one soon, plus I have a deep seated dislike of all things Flash...)

But good for kids though so he should like it, hehe.:rolleyesa

I think it's just essentail for most people make games in Flash MX. Requires Macromedia Flash to play.

That I don't have a problem with, it's all the sites that use Flash for simple animations and overblown menu systems, neither of which do anything that can't be done without Flash.

By games sites I meant videogame sites, rather than the online gaming stuff.

You raise a good point there.
There are literally thousands of things that you can do while on the internet. You can play online games, look up helpful info, interact with people on instant messaging systems, build your own website, download music, etc.

I'm so grateful for the creation of the internet. It makes life much easier. :madred: :tup:
