I was a big fan of the previous incarnations of this game so I really like the way this neww version is shaping up. It looks and plays very well indeed!
The only thing that I'm not sure about is that it seems it is no-longer possible for rides (coasters) and paths to "tunnel" through the landscape. Is this really the case?
Otherwise, great stuff!

Yeah I totally agree, tunnels are a fundamental part of most rollercoasters I've built in RCT 1 and 2. I know you can kinda get round it by building roofs, but it ain't the same. Being able to build paths underground is also important too. (although I must say I'm not exactly displeased with the current game!)
I understand that to make a tunnel means a bit of work in terms of rendering 'underground' (and possibly changes to the 3D engine?). I assume if its not already there then we won't see it on nov 2nd, any possibilty of adding functionality such as this in future patches/expansions (patches you pay for).

Yep ... fully agreed about the tunnels (not essential for now, but that was one of the coolest things about RCT1 and 2). I really miss the way you were able to build underground rides for rainy days, underground food courts, and the simple pleasure of having the virginia reel or the small wild mouse coasters duck in and out of a cliff-face ...
Tunnels must return, it is going to be so stupid if we can't have tunnels, not the end of the world just kinda stupid thats all. But i guess it would be a difficult job to change the graphics to do it. But when u think about it all they did in RCT & RCT2 was make the terrain kinda transparent and showed to the track and cars where you normally wouldn't see them in normal view. We will just have to wait :bounce:

Hey I discovered you CAN see underground (except its more of a bug than a feature! Ride a ride that is close to the ground and doesn't move much, like the ferris wheel, and then use your mouse to zoom out and look up. Watch all the peeps above you!
This view works really cool on somethings, lets you follow things around at a distance without actually riding them (similar to watching a train on the first gen RCT).

Although a lack of tunnels would affect some ride designs - I think it will have a far greater impact on pathways. In previous incarnations of the game, if a hill got in the way of your path, you simply bored a hole through it! That way peeps could move about the park far more easilly (without a silly network of arial paths).
