Guys, let me say...in the end this games is full of bug....
The AI is worse than in RCT2 and 1. Some attractions are completely ignored by the peeps (swinging ship). The entrances sometimes do not work anymore. There are also mistake in the cashflow calculation :lightbulb
so let me say...a patch is REALLY needed, and Atari should quit to use the buyers as testers...
And I don't wanna talk about locomotion...:eekblue:
If you think RCT3 is bad you should have tried Chaser......:lolblue:

I think that this game is simply great...but I think also that it's not honest to take money for a product that doesn't work...don't you?

when is the UK patch coming out as I have been having many problems e.g. people work though each other and some other odd things.
In the world of PC games there are so many different combinations of systems that it is impossible to check tham all. Games would be in development for decades......:lightbulb
Even if you and I had the same spec computer it would probably vary greatly in terms of where we got our memory from, who manufactured our graphics/sound cards etc.
All PC games come with bugs and it is too the developers credit that they work on a patch to address these issues after they have made their money by selling it to you and me.....
There is a patch in the works, but I for one would rather it fixed the problems instead of making new ones. Give them time :)
I know how annoying it is when the game isnt working properly, but thats the way of PC gaming......:frownblue
We should have something this week......

ok...;) You are right...but let me say...there are games that have SOME bugs, but it's the first time that I stop playing a game because of its bugs!!!
Now, let's hope that this patch fixes the problem as you predict and it'll be the end my social life :D
I'm a software engineer and I know just how easy it for bugs to creap into software.
Experience gives me a good idea of how easily some types of bugs should be spotted.
Hardware related bugs I'm most lenient on, I think game manufacturers do an excellent job, on the whole, given the insane amount of system combinations available.
Gameplay bugs I take a less lenient view on. Some bugs are easy to spot and fix, others are not so easy to spot.
The bug with the wrong sound for water rides, is a hard one to spot, and in all honesty it's a fairly trivial bug.
The bug with one track piece flipping a coaster is a serious bug, but again I rate this as very hard to spot, as it only happens in very specific circumstances. Only the most saftey critical parts of any system will get the level of testing that covers every possible combination of values, and nothing in a game is safety-critical. That makes these types of bugs hard to spot even in very good testing.
Having looked at the FAQ and most of the bugs listed in there I think almost all of them are bugs I can forgive. They are irritating, especially as I have encountered them, but I'm not too bothered by them, especially as a patch is in the works.
Some issues though are a bit less forgivable and they are not bugs, but design failures. For example peeps only ever going to the first ride., if there are more than one entrances on a path tile.
I also count things like the missing peeps thoughts summary, and the lack of an ability to synchronise shop prices as design failures. They were in RCT2, the 2nd having been specifically requested after RCT1, and really should not have been ignored.
The fact that Frontier are so quick off the mark with a patch implies that they did have beta testing. Alas it seems that this beta testing came very close to the actual release date. This is not suprising considering the time scales for these types of projects. It can take a couple of months to print all the CDs and get all the stuff shipped ot to shops for release date. Between the software "going gold" and actual release, a lot can happen. Such unfortunatly is the reality.
I am very pleased though that Frontier are listening to their testers and us players and are adjusting the mechanics of their game. Height restrictions, the way block breaks work. This indicates to me a company that actually cares about the people it sells to, and while that used to be the norm in software games, it isn't anymore.
I've been keeping an eye on Frontier long before I ever heard about them making RCT3, mostly i'm waiting for Elite 4, and having seen what they achieved for RCT3 i'm quite confident it will be good when it finally turns up.
Ok.. that got a bit longer than I planned :P

Its more than likely Atari's fault, forcing the developer into releasing a game that clearly hasn't been tested enough. Yes its true games will have bugs, but the amount of bugs this game has is just p i s s poor.
Atari should be ashamed.
