Has anybody downloaded the update? If so whats it like? I have just finished downloading it but haven't played the game yet.

Also, when will the proper patch be available? and are there any risks of testing the Beta version?

Ok maybe I won't..... like hell I won't, c'mon baby for 9.3mb something's gotta be changed!

I bet it doesn't install, ha ha ha I betcha, oh it's at 50% better finish this and get ready to commence installification and patchualisation

There are quite a lot of changes if you read the README file.
I have e been playing it for a while with the up date and there are still odd glitches.

Just remember its a BETA and is a 'work in progress'.......:D

Malekpour
11-11-2004, 21:24
Ha! Well for me it "seems" to have fixed the guest problem, just had a "quick" go and the reason it was quick was...

IT'S BUGGERED MY SOUND

I originally had a sound problem where all I got was ambiance, no clicking, rides or anything but mumbling guest loops

I fixed this before by uninstalling the Demo of RCT3 and it did, it worked fine

Now it's back, as soon as I patched it. Goddamn it the game's going back to the shop.

You don't have time to do **** like "work in progress" you get paid to get it sorted. Testers, TESTERS what the hell happened to them? How can they approve a game with SO many glitches, faults, incompatibilities? You can't say "wait for the better patch, or finished patch". Customers of your game have paid a ripping £34.99 (more than average price for PC games) for a game that does not do what it' supposed to. You only have a limited time to refund it, sort that damn thing out

I didnt program the game, I dont beta test it, I dont publish it, I dont get paid to sort it. All I do is try to help people who are having problems, if I can. Learn some manners or get off the boards........:madred:

And I didn't once address the name Fluxx, I referred to programmers and testers. I have PAID for this game and it's buggy along with faulty sound. There should be a phone number to call to get it sorted but there isn't... not one that gets me anywhere past an answering machine so no, so long as I have a receipt for this game I want those responsible to sort it out and deal with an angry CUSTOMER, which is the scenario here, a CUSTOMER. Just because it's an online board doesn't mean they can ignore customers.

I work for GAME and my experiance will be noted

Fluxx

No you didnt address me by name, but you did manage to quote me.

'You don't have time to do **** like "work in progress" you get paid to get it sorted.'

If you were refering to 'programmers and testers' it might have been an idea to say so.

Yes, you're right, you are a customer and as such have the right to complain. Well you have complained and, on behalf of Atari, I have taken onboard everything you have said. Nothing I say will make you happy so we will have to leave it there.

As you work for GAME you are in the posistion to , as your other posts say, get a refund

'Refunding the game tomorrow, well done Atari'

Im glad that you can recieve the full sum that you payed for the game. At least you can carry on with your life knowing that you never have to come here again, leaving the board free for people who want help.

Hello,

I installed the patch hoping that it would fix the crashing to desktop on game startup problem (which was previously solved by a hacked noCD patch).

Unfotunately it didn't, so I had to reapply the hacked patch (RCT3.exe) which, I think, might have undone the good the patch did.

The game still crashes within about 20 mins and runs like a dog when building paths.

I've spent every night this week just trying to play the game!

Any advice on getting a noCD fix which allows the patch to work too?

Many thanks in advance,

Jim.

I would try the game as a clean install, then the patch - ignore the noCD *****, at least until you've tried with a clean and patched install:tup:

matteosister

jimchayts, You cannot play with an updated game and a not updated no-cd patch...it's a great mess...
you have to wait for the NEW no-cd patch.
Or re-install the previous version.

jimchayts
12-11-2004, 11:07
Thanks for the replies.

I did try a clean install then applied the patch and it did the same cd whirring crash to desktop when starting.

I wonder how long it'll be until someone can do a noCD hack which works with the patched RTC3.

Atari relying on hackers to get their retail products to work! Hilarious.

Many thanks,

James.

Is it a DVD drive?

jimchayts
12-11-2004, 11:24
It could be, but I've never had the problem before and I noticed in the US forums:

http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=423320

Other people have the same problem.

Doesn't XP manage the drivers for my DVD?

Cheers,

Jim.

I too have installed the NoCD patch (playing too many games at once, can't find the discs anywhere :eekblue: ). After the patch, the exe was renewed, and again asking for the CD. Reinstalling the 1.0-NoCD patch solved that again.

I doubt that solved problems have been turned back because of the 'older NoCD-.exe? I saw dozens and dozens of OVL's being installed, sure those were the real patches...

jimchayts
12-11-2004, 13:25
So if the patch isn't affected by the noCD *****, then that means that the games crashing and running slowly for other reasons!

Oh no. Back to the drawing board.

Might just take it back and save myself the grief.

Shame because it was a lovely looking game - when it worked.

Cheers,

Jim.

Of course I don't know how skilled you all are having those desktop crashing problems...ever tried backing up your current system and trying a clean install of XP? I reinstalled a month or two ago, SP2 and all, never had one technical glitch with this game, demo or not!
I'm sorry for all you guys having trouble, but I think lots of people are playing with joy...
Maybe worth a shot, if it doesn't work, just restore the backup...takes an hour or two, I know...

Me too...no technical probs...but we are talking about gameplay bugs...if you don't believe me...have a look here (http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=425522) , and if you are the ONLY lucky gut with a perfect game...good for you!;)

Actually there are some replies in this thread about no sound and desktop crashes...;)
I have to agree about the gameplay bugs. Maybe I'm too much of a beginner at this game to notice them (very) much. Some thing I notice too, but I still have to learn a lot of skills to see some bugs I guess...

And do not believe Atari if they tell you that the course of all your problems is the *****. Thats just a big corporate get out. Unfortunatly the 'cracking' underworld does not ***** beta release patches, so you'd have to wait for the full release patch to appear.

Also, the fact Atari or Frontier have released a patch in Beta stage, obviously means they knew how bug filled the product was upon release. Should we blame Frontier for this. Maybe, but if you ever work for a publisher, Atari being the publisher, your know how much hassle they give you to release the game. After all, they want their return and want it fast. Sod the customers. So if you were to blame anyone, I'd point the finger at Atari first. And the mods here probably have no powers whatsever to get anything changed in the game.

Atari have been going downhill slowly in my eyes. Wouldn't suprise me if they went t i ts up at some point, like Acclaim.

yep no problems what so ever with my game loving every minute of it :)

Weird how other people have had problems with the game.

What since you applied the patch? If not then before hand you must of at least experience the gameplay bugs.

stevie_g1
12-11-2004, 19:02
well i noticed some bugs yeh but the patch seemed to fix things that were of use to me :)

One thing i would have liked to see tho is a option to set all rides to the same music and when the track finishes it plays the next one insted of repeating till you change it

matteosister
12-11-2004, 20:05
and your queue lines are full of peeps???
Or the most of them still wander around without a reason?
Have you ever seen (now or before the patch) a queue line stopped?

p.s. the problem is definitely NOT the hardware configuration. These problems has been often resolved with a drivers update. I'm talking about gameplay bugs. I play RCT from the first one. And I'm sure that the AI of RCT3 is better than RCT1, but worse than RCT2

stevie_g1
13-11-2004, 03:29
yeh i even closed the park and the ride cue's were still getting filled up.. its all been spot on since i got the demo, game, update.. not crashed, not stopped, no faults.. i really am a lucky person. But like i said i would like there to be a playlist for music on rides as coming back to the same song over and over again is head doing, and also can anyone tell me if the genre's actully work! cuz once u choose the genre it should create a folder to access much easier, insted of having to scroll right down to the bottom of a list of 400 mp3s to get one track.. but other then that good update for me, im happy :)

Oh and one other thing i find the path designer pretty hard to master with going up and down etc.. :eekblue: anyone else agree?

do you really think that this game show bugs randomly? Do you really think that someone colud have bugs, and someone don't???? (I'm talking about gameplay) If so It's really a BIG mess...and I think that that the problems could never be resolved!!!

I think (and I hope) that the people who DON'T have any bugs maybe do not know very well the history of this game. If frontier is applying on fix the problems (so quickly and with beta releases), maybe something wrong there is...and there are thousands of guys that can confirm (insted of ONE who don't)

stevie_g1
13-11-2004, 16:17
Nooo you are wrong there cuz I know the game very well thank you im a fan of the series and not a first timer! But the thing is im just stating the fact that for the game to be played its fine for me! I don't care about the odd bug here or the odd bug there its still playable after the recent update and im not really a fussy person cuz if it didn't work correctly I tell you what I wouldn't do go into a forum and complain about every bad section of the game!

I work for royal mail and the thing that does my head in about the publicity they got for all the bad things is they never see how much of the good things we do and this is a problem. People like to moan and whine about a letter that’s a day late or whatever where as 9/10 of the people all receive there letters on time. This is the same problem with Atari why can't people be in a community and notice all the good things about the game what is everyone’s problem! All games start out this way for instance go on the football manager 2005 forum u will see the word Bug a lot of times! But the company are releasing a patch soon just like in rollercoaster tycoon 3 so why can't people give the company time, we were lucky there was a rollercoaster tycoon 3 so be grateful!! :)

It's not a problem of name...my dear...you should mod this forum, and respect the ideas of EVERYONE, also if they don't think like you...If you say: "A voice of sanity in a sea of turmoil", in THIS post, maybe someone should think the the others are not a voice of sanity...and (excuse me) I'm not going to accept this...

and MAYBE you should also know, that noone has the "Thruth", but we are simply discussing about a problem that thousands of guys can confirm. So, please, stop with your unuseful sentence, and say something about the topic, if you have something to say!:)

Its not as if I feel the need to explain my actions(or my posts) to you or anyone else, but........

Do you really believe I was picking on you personally when I said 'A voice of sanity in a sea of turmoil.......'?

Have you read the other threads in this forum?

Do you know how unproductive it is to constantly whine that 'It doesnt work' or 'I payed £40 for this piece of ****'?

The whinging started with the demo and has carried on ever since. I dont think Ive seen a game released in the last 5 years, by anyone, that didnt need patching in one way or another.

Ive been playing games for a long time and I have never felt the need to come on a message board and slag off the publisher/creator of said game just because I cant get it to work.

Ive never understood people who come on a board to say 'This game sucks and this company is a pack of ****** for releasing it'.

Whats the point?

If thats how you feel, take the game back

In this life people are more inclined to help you if you treat them with respect.
If someone comes here with a problem the other mods and I (as well as forum members) will do our best to help them.

If someone wants to rant about a certain game thats fine. Have your rant and get over it. Please dont keep going on and on and on.....:bored:

I posted after stevie_g1 because he was one of the first to say that he enjoyed the game and that it was playing alright on his system.

You may not agree with me ,but I do mod this forum and I do respect the ideas of all who post here.
Anybody can have a moan if they want, as long as they dont keep on going over the same ground......:confusedb

I dont want to get into a war of words with you over this. Thats not what Im here for. I too hope an offical patch is out soon that will fix everybodies problems. But until then............:)

I am having problems with the game. It keeps restarting within 45 mins. There's an error message but it's only on screen for 1 second.
So the advice is to wait for the patch? Which could take months? I'm not happy
