View Full Version : Letter Of Complaint

To start off with, contradictory with some beliefs the Internet Message Boards never get you anywhere when it comes to legal and commercial problems.
I have just finished writing my letter of complaint to Atari and would like to know if anyone else is going to follow suit.
Paper letters equal mass physical presence and I've NEVER written to anyone complaining about anything.
We're all in the same boat here, a piece of software we paid for and does not fulfil its task and we're all frustrated and disappointed.
Maybe Atari will recall the game and release it, and those who write get compensated, who knows.
I don't care if anyone else is with me, or what people say but I'm doing it. 28p for a stamp is nothing, and usually any company with dignity and respect for its consumers will reply.
good idea man but i cant be bothered to waste my time with atari-bug masters! lol but if you want to add my name to it your welcome to ;) Tom Kentell.

bloody hell ain't you got nothing else better to do! if you don't like it take it back then you will get your money back simple!
And not being funny but atari will just laugh at that letter and think what a waste of time and within seconds it will be in the bin! so i believe you should do something more constructive with your time and be positive for the company..talk about not giving people time, as you can see know about the errors and they are trying to fix them so please give them time :)

Your giving credit to a company that clearly doesn't give a **** about the consumer, you, otherwise Atari wouldn't of forced Frontier to release a game that was so full of bugs, that being game play bugs including hardware issues. People might not experience the hardware issues but they cannot avoid the game play bugs. If a company releases a beta patch, this is a company owning up to the fact that they either rushed the release or/and knew how many gameplay bugs were actually in the game, hence making become unplayable. The easiest way for a company to get out of this, is to release a game in its bug filled state, reap the rewards of sales, then take their time release a patch.
Which Atari have done. And your probably still defend them.

Well everyone has different views on different things but i like atari and do have faith that the game will be sorted im happy with the game i play the game with no faults everything seems fine to me its just unlucky that people do have things going wrong.. but im confident atari already KNOW about that and im sure they do care about the customer else they wouldn't bother with a beta patch :D
the beta patch has sorted lots of stuff out, and altho there are still a few things that need sorting, i know theyll be done, so i dont see the point in a letter at all... name a game that doesnt have bugs, be it some or lots, when its released... heck even other games coming out are releasing patches almost right after release, NFSU for example!
i myself am happy, dispite the occasional flop, it still plays well, and im enjoying it, and the bugs WILL in time be ironed out.. so to me thats all that matters
yea games have bugs but our point with this is the amount of bugs and how the patch fixes bugger all
take into note its not the FINAL patch as well, its beta, so cant say you expect it to be perfect imo :rolleyesa
well no but you dont expect a game that has already been released to still be in beta testing right?

Yes thats true but as Aarek was saying it doesn't help no one moaning on a atari forum about the problems they already know about. Aari = big company they know faults when they see them, and yes as Aarek mentions its only a beta test update which makes me interested in how this whole situation is going to work out.. im not even worried about the odd 23 quid that i spent on a game, i mean whats 23 quid! and if you payed more for it shop around! lol :D

Just my little input here about the cost of RTC3 another games, I buy from this site:
http://www.play.com/play247.asp?page=front&r=PC
Games are quite cheap here as opposed to shops and as an example Doom 3 which I stupidly bought in a shop cost me £40 and on that website it is £24.99!!!
The postage and packing is free and the service is pretty good, no complaints so far, ok so some people don't buy online, but for thiose who do and hate to buy games which are around £30 or £40 this site offers better prices.
Incidentally RTC3 is £24.99 at play.com
Downside is that they don't deliver to America, but Europe fine, and they take English Currency and also the Euro
I hope this helps some people maybe.
Hardtarget :)
I know this is off topic a bit, but as the price of this game was mentioned somewhere in this thread I thought I'd put this here

Hey I work for GAME stores and I get it discounted anyway. The fact of the matter is they release it at an RRP of £34.99. Christs sake they shouldn't have released it at all.
Online stores are always cheaper yeah.
Now, take it back if you don't like it... what about people who bought it online and have to pay to send it back? Which stores WILL take it back? GAME is the only store that takes games back within 10 days and it EXCLUDES PC games.
So how the hell can people take it back? Is it faulty...? Try telling a store it's faulty they'll exchange it for you, not a refund unless it's commercially recalled.
As you work for GAME I take it you could take it back?

Yes "I" I can take back and I have advised every customer who approach the counter of the game's bugs and problems. As a decent advisor would do. I haven't refused sales or steered people away, simply stated the truth.
HOWEVER if a customer returns the game and I am not in the shop they will NOT get a refund. If they state the game is faulty, the store will exhange it for the same game. No refunds, and no other games. Why would someone want another game just because their RCT3 was faulty, surely they'd want a replacement to play the game they originally bought etc etc...
If I am in the store, I will refund it under the FACT the game software itself is faulty, but due to it not being recalled as faulty, I will get my *** kicked from Head Office and Loss Prevention. Scratched, none-installing games no problem. But if the game doesn't run on a customers system it's their fault, and we don't have to take it back due to the "read the smegging specs".
IF Atari recalled the game then we'd have no problem giving a refund but they ain't. Tiger Woods 2005 for the PS2 had a fault in it, they recalled it, everyone got their money back and a voucher for the game when it was released again.
So no, contradictory to whichever forum nerd says I have nothing else better to do, I wrote a letter to Atar from a business/commercial view stating how much **** they're creating for the home user and high street business by releasing an UNFINISHED or UNTESTED piece of software.
Trust me, youve made your point.
Youve written your letter, youve complained here and put forward a very convincing arguement, and you have the option to take the game back and get a full refund.
I dont see a problem.........

Funny guy. 3000+ posts on an Internet forum, happy? You have more posts than Fluxx, a mod.
Anyway, whatever you say, there's no way I'm arguing with a forum-nerd on the Net. I only registered here to find out what's wrong with RCT3.
You continue changing your Av's, Signatures and all that makes you happy and immediately defending yourself with "who likes you".
One day you'll learn that no one actually takes notice of people in a forum whereas a letter is physical and needs to be opened and read. I'll probably result in an apology and voucher from Atari most likely.
lol you make me laugh though. I mean your actual presence online must be massive to accumulate so many posts etc

Anyway, whatever you say, there's no way I'm arguing with a forum-nerd on the Net.hey, i don't want any arguement, and i'm not really a forum nerd, more like someone that spends a lot of the time on webbynet and happens to visit this one forum each day. I only registered here to find out what's wrong with RCT3. i only registered here to find out some info on Driv3r
You continue changing your Av's, Signatures i rarely change it, i just got bored of the cat, and i could hardly continue to call myself the cute little kitty, if i was not in fact a cute little kitty, but a flag and all that makes you happy i'd hardly say it makes me happy, i just get bored easily and immediately defending yourself with "who likes you". defending myself from what exactly, nothing can penetrate my dense and complex personality defects.
One day you'll learn that no one actually takes notice of people in a forum i realised that the second i came here and noticed that the only other people are just as clueless whereas a letter is physical and needs to be opened and read. unless ofcourse Royal Mail lose it, or they get one of those clever monkey's to read it, but the monkey turns out to be a normal monkey, and so cannot understand it, and throws it away It'll probably result in an apology and voucher from Atari most likely. That's like when i sent a few e-mails to Microsoft, complaining about the activation of my software taking a few days. They said sorry, but did nothing about it, so i rang them up, and the person on the other end of the phone simply clicked a button on their computer, and my software was activated instantly.
lol you make me laugh though. I mean your actual presence online must be massive to accumulate so many posts etc yeah, and yet i still manage to have an education, job, social life and time to eat and sleep - i'm like a miracle creature

good job Tommy, you have my respect:lightbulb
Am I missing the point here - I am not really experiencing a huge problem with bugs - there are a couple (all my staff keep quitting but only since I loaded the patch) but on the whole I think the game is great.
p.s If you pre ordered it was £17.99 from Play.com

I agree about the staff quitting, the way i solve it is to fully train them. The thing is you ahve to keep them busy. strange i know. Keeping them busy isnt always easy.
The dynamic lighting on this game is beautiful, my Devil's Den section of my sandbox mode ultrapark looks immense at night.

yeah, do what the lady says, you, you, you big bully!
i on the other hand feel that taking out your misgreivances on me gives a welcome break to the developers, and so your actions are in fact positive towards the greater good.
so, there are a few casualities along the way, but who cares:tup:
it's like the common acceptance in society today, killing witnesses is OKAY! They should have kept their eyes closed or something if they were clever, and we only need clever people in this society:lightbulb
