direct 3d problem

Can any one please help. When running the game, i get the following message "failed to create direct 3d device" any ideas please?? Running XP

You havnt posted your system spec, but Im betting you have onboard graphics......?:confusedb

Can you tell me what graphics card you have please?

Thanks for that. Am running XP. Athlon 2.3. 256 mb. I dont have a graphics card, just onboard. Which do you suggest would do the job. Ta

You need to find out if you have an AGP slot and make sure you can turn your onboard graphics off (You cant on some motherboards)........:lightbulb

If you have a spare AGP slot, it becomes a question of budget.....how much can you afford for a graphics card?

You dont have to use dabs though.....:)

If you can afford more go for a higher spec card.........although not too high......anything too expensive would be a waste of money. A Geforce 5900xt would be fine or a Radeon 9800. It all depends on what you can afford.

Another 256MB stick of RAM wouldnt go amiss either.....:tup:
