View Full Version : Audio problems
Hi guys, i had posted in a different thread but it got no response...
i have an audio issue occuring while playing the game. Everything is running fine, except for the "game sound" which i presume is ride sounds, crowd weather etc.....
If i go into the options and turn the game sound volume down everything is fine, however if i have the volume for this setting actually at an audiable level i experience a high pitched cracking/humming/screeching noise.
I'm running a realtek' audio card with dolby 5.1 surround... any ideas would be appreciated.... it kinda taskes the edge from the game when you can'#t hear a blooming thing......
cheers
-cliff.
Have you tried having a fiddle with the audio options ?
Try turning off hardware accelaration etc
Might be worth a go.....:)

I've had the same problem, only randomly and it's horrible. Changing the settings in RCT3 won't make any difference and neither will changing "hardware acceleration" besides you shouldn't have to anyway. I replied to a previous message from you and unfortunately the only insight I can provide is knowing Realtek is a bit pants compared to a decent sound card :(
cheers for your suggestions fluxx i'll have a fiddle aboot.....
anyways, malekpour...... i know realtek aint exactly sweet stuff but nah i aint got sound problems with any other games... everything seems to be running properly. and regarding what you said about the random sounds.. mine is actually random too, although the period of sound gets longer as play continues but it is totaly unplayable in all honestly....
if anyone has any more ideas i'd really appreciate it guys.

Hi biteuk, none of the mods works for Atari - we keep regularly in touch with them if we have any queries but that's about it. The administrators are Atari employees and try to keep an eye on the board as much as possible, but it's not too often.
ah righty i see, cheers for that nugget of info. very nice indeed. okay anyway, upgrading that driver as above posted has sorted my sound problems, however now iv'e been able to play for longer than 5 mintues, i suddenly find myself in a whole new world of hurt.... if i place certain objects.... and it is only a select few, mainly it's an assortment of western style trees.... they flicker.
then shortly following my whole systems locks up , restart scandisk. you know the routine..... lol.... so... any ideas...
