help patchy blocky graphics???

please help when rct3 loads up the graphics go ****?
all blocky and patchy.
my pc is a
p4 3ghz
512ram
80gig hd
geforce fx 5200 with 256ram
one dvdrom one dvdrw
winxp sp1
see attached dxdiag
have done a format and clean install
only driver installed is for my printer.
rct3 works fine on my amd pc 1.8ghz with geforce mx440
it works fine on my friends amd pc with the same card as me fx5200???
any ideas??
video drivers are up to date.

This might sound too simple , but your monitor refresh rate is set to 60Hz. You need it at a minimum of 75HZ to avoid going blind. Your adapter can run the resolution you want at 85Hz - try that first, before we try anything complicated:tup:

I didn't think it would make a huge difference to be honest, but we start with the basics and work up. Next thing is to make sure the drivers for video AND sound card are up to date . Does RCT need DX9.0b or 9.0C?

When you run the game, how many other processes are running in the background?have you any idea what kind of load your CPU is under, or even what the temperatures etc are?

And finally- did you install the Euro Patch? It fixes a LOT of problems apparently:tup:

nothing running in background,
all drivers are upto date
dx ver 9.0b(have tryed with 9.0c as well no difference)
have tryed the update patch and that made it worse?????????

They don't make it easy do they. OK - something else - have your tried running the game in Windows Compatibilty mode? A lot of other people got it working with Windows Me compatibilty - this should absolutely NOT work, but it does...

Go to Start/Programs/Accessories/Program Compatibility Wizard.

(I presume its "All Programs" if you have the default Windows XP setup:tdown: )
