View Full Version : My staff hate me
First off I want to say that I think the game is great. As a huge fan of RCT1 and I suppose RCT2 (although pretty much same game if you ask me) I was so excited that they have brought out new one.
I am not having any technical issues (crashing etc) but there are a couple of weird things happening since I loaded the patch:
1) all my staff keep quitting and dragging themselves around not doing much.
2)my peeps are moaning that they are tired and hungry but do not sit down on the 3 million benches that I have provided or eat at any of the food stands (I have more food outlets than Macdonalds in my park).
Is anyone else having these probs - is it something I can solve or are they general AI bugs that will be sorted with the full update?

Its a problem with your park. If they are tied, build them a mono rail so they don't have to walk everywhere. Make sure the prices on the food is not to much. They might not be hungry when they walk in, so maybe move the food stalls away from the entrance if there are there.
I agree with joeypesci.
Training costs, but each one has results for e.g. a janitor untrained takes 4 sweeps to remove a pile of puke, fully trained he takes 1!
4 x Fully trained Janitors fully cleaned up my park (senario 4?) before the VIP arrived.
Vendors also seem to serve faster (still think their training is too expensive though) possibly serve 4x people compared to 1x untrained ??
Peeps also seem to take some time to notice new items, and are (at present) very single minded. If they see the only food stall is at other end of park and aim for it - they will walk to it regardless of how many new ones you chuck in their path.
(I wonder if a timed 'auto re-think' to check if something has changed every so often would improve this and many other peep probs? - David B??)
Food stalls need tweaking to make effective: I normally do 1 basic food type (with 1 extra) just below standard price, then drag a new one across to create 1 with 2 extras just above standard and a delux (everything) for a little more - seems to get goofd results. you can also select just how much extra they get with each.
(i.e. Basic Burger £1.40, Cheese Burger £1.60, Royalle £1.70 all with extra toppings) -
Next it appears (from my exp) main food and deserts are more seperate in RCT3 than in RCT 1&2.
In RCT 1 an ice cream would kill hunger as much as a Burger and Fries (unrealistic) now it seems if they are hungry they want things like burgers initially but will go for things like ice cream later - which I agree with, but I would like to see them go for things like that and souveniers more readily. I think we all know kids who would eat ice creams for breakfast whether hungry or not :)
I do think they should be tweaked so that: if you offer good deals peeps will buy regrdless of hunger level (but maybe increase their nausea level if not hungry), and less demanding of happiness before buying souvineers. (as kids want cheap rubbish regardless of time of day) Stalls do not seem to be the cash cows they were.
Hope this helps
Thanks! You have just answered a bit of query I just posted on another thread. I can see that I am going to have to be a bit more canny with my management. RCT1 and 2 kind of let you coast along happily building roller coasters. I will have to stop being a thrill seeking coaster designer and start managing my park!
Any ideas how to keep guests from moaning they are cold? Is it just hot drinks?
Don't know if youve solved this yet - but I had not observed enough to post before.
Yes Hot Drinks/Food help in cold parks as do cold drinks/food in hot ones (they also seem to get thirsty quiker in hot ones) proving that some of the AI has been tweaked for RCT3
I have also noticed (especially with trained Vendors) that you can get away with charging more for Hot itmes in a cold park (and vice versa - market forces etc.,)
I still haven't figured out shade properly as the peeps didn't seem to be any more happy about covered food areas etc.,
Shame Brollys don't become parasols or sunshades in hot games - oh and for the frst time I noticed we no longer appear to have sunglasses anymore :(
(Mind you I am finding souveniers on the whole are hard to make £££'s on anymore- which is odd as these are bread and butter for almost any kind of park/zoo. i.e could do with a little tweak to bring up their popularity a 'bit' more.
Lastly in the Scenario editor there seems to be no temp/climate setting (which is also odd)

i haven't got rct3 but i have rct2 theres two options
1
all you need to do is build direct paths to all exits place signs saying way out in the most congested areas it worked for me
2
redoe all path layouts double if not treble size of paths near main areas then do what i like to call human traffic areas with no entry one way and others coming through the other the human trafficing sytem is a great way to separate peeps in your park
(i tryed both and they worked for me)
