This is the desert castle part of my sandbox park. Although the rest of the park is a bit messed up, this is my first attempt in sandbox mode, so I will probably start a new one and lift this castle over.

they look cool. Justy, you have to compress your picture file to get it down to size. just try using a picture program and click save as... rename it and do it as a jpeg. that might work.

Thanks Andy - was thinking about it last night and came to same conclusion - will try using Fireworks later - have small child wanting to use the computer!

Masterjedia,

I believe good theming makes for a good park.
Just work on your park in little segments, If you build 3 fantastic rollercoasters spanning half of your park, but then don't theme it cos it's just such a lot to do then you'll end up with nothing worth taking a screenshot of.

First things first, decide what theme you want to work with. Take Spooky for example. lay a small amount of path, and stick theming arond that. some spooky trees, and change the ground from that nice lush green to a more dusty, green/brown kinda grass Also, use the walls to build random little towers or buildings that sit along your paths. One spooky castle doesn't make for spooky theming, it has to be backed up by other smaller buildings dotted around.

If you work in little sections, you'll have a fully themed area by the time you're done.

Also, color the tracks of any rides appropriatly. Imagine a scary landscape with a blaring pink ride through the middle. kinda ruins the image. For a spooky area, I suggest black track with black supports.

When I get home later I'll post up a section of spookyness that I've done recently.

take your time, the way i build a park is that i build a little bit and then let in like 10 peeps and see what they think, then i add a bit more. I add staff as i go along, i dont add millions at once.

*MAKE YOUR PARK INTERESTING*
1) dont just have path after path with rides tailing off for each. Rides are usually put in places where they kind of look like they belong there. Altho this does not apply to ALL your rides. a rides interaction with terrain can make it so much more interesting. For instance, have a roller coaster that follows the contour of a hill and then drops off the end of it and things.

2) Try to have a few things that make your park stand out. create interesting buildings using the wall's tool. Put a ride fully inside a building.

3)Make sure that every section has a nice compliment of scenery. Make sure it is in theme and that it is varied.

4) use the water tool wisely. Water should look like its meant to be there, not like it was put there by you.

5) you could have a ride that sweeps through a building momentarily, this can looks very very cool.

6) watch out for excess use of terrain tools, you will ultimately end up with a park that is hard to build on, and generally looks tacky.

Andy

Peace.

How do i attach images :-) ?

Justy
21-11-2004, 22:33
fantastic images Bebop! I wish I had the patience to do buildings like that. You can attach an image by using the attach file option at the bottom of the post reply screen. It can only be a certain size and try as I might I cannot get mine to go. I have tried saving it as a JPEG and it is still too big. Mind you looking at some of the pics posted mine look pretty poor anyway!:o:

Thanks Bebop. No matter what I try they will not upload to this site. At the moment I do not really have much worth doing but will let you know! Is the RCT site going to be having an upload area?

It's not the sandbox mode, but it just plays alike since I made my own scenario very easy to create at ease. Graphics are not good since I had to cut on much detail.

It's the oriental part of my Adventure Park., not finished yet.

Looks very nice mandible -

I prefer self- scenario mode myself (I like the freedom of Sandbox - but with some control on finances even set myself objectives - other wise I tend to get bored -
I also enjoy making scenarios - the editor needs a little more refinement - but it's a good start :)

Why can't I get my pics on here?!!! Even if I change them to JPEG they are still too big.

V-nice Justy :yum:

That looks like a 'monster' of a coaster in the background

I haven't really got flying with the sanbox yet (too busy enjoying re-doing the scenarios the way I used to - i.e. untill I say they are finished)

Below (if this works) is how my 'Vanilla Park' finished off. To which there wasn't a single square left I could build on - I had repaid my loan, had 10k in the bank a park rating of 950+ and believe it or not over 1000 peeps in this park with every ride/stall (except the crooked house) making money.

Looks Fantastic Silkius, Wow, Vanilla Park, wouldn't recognize it.

I wish I could have so many objects in the screen without cutting on detail.

Hey silkius i'd love to see that vinalla park myself have you got a download for it?

I agree, i would like to have the download for it aswell please, if you don't mind that is.

Silkius
12-12-2004, 19:32
Thnx for the compliments

Not sure if it will work but try this: LINK (http://www.f-p-eye.co.uk/taos/spare/Vanilla _y7.dat) (this will only be there temporarily as I will soon be moving hosts again)

I don't know what files you need to use - but am guessing the dat file from my directory for that park - dumped into; my docs/rct3/parks/
and ran it from sandbox

It ain't the best and I didn't use much scenery just a lot of plants (which do bog down your system - so you have been warned :coolred: ) I often try to take scenarios (I Like) to the limit - if they give you the scope to go past the scanario (unlike the next two which I found didn't give you enough items past the basics to really play)

hope it gives a couple of you ideas!

Silkius

I recently finished a unique theme park scenario based around a music website for unsigned bands and musicians, which I am involved in.

Heres a screenshot of the finished park:
MP3Unsigned Theme Park Areial Shot (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/skeav/ParadiseDecay/RCT3/MP3UnsignedThemePark_Finished.jpg)

The park features 16 original rides, with 26 original music tracks, submitted by the artists. Due to the size and nature of this theme park, its only available on CD. It's FREE and you only need to send me a blank CD and P&P. Contact me for further details.
