Hi

My copy of RCT3 runs fine except for one problem - i cant add areas of water. I have dug the holes to put it in but when i try to add the water nothing happens.

I am playing on a 2 year old laptop, running windows XP,
1.33 Ghz
256 RAM
32mb Intel (R) video card.

I know i probably wont be able to get ripples and reflections etc, but it would be nice to add some basic water features (the water on the dinghy ride shows up fine however)

Anybody got any ideas what the problem is and how i can rectify it.

Thanks, Nicki

Hi there :-)

When u add the water you need to click on the edge of the hole you want to fill & not the bottom of it

Hope this helps :-)

nicki - make sure you click inside the crater you want to fill, but below the surrounding surface height (there is a stop in there to stop you flodding the park)

Took me a little while to figure it out, (was more hit and miss at the start) I found it easier to use the grid option (click the glasses and the options that come up allow you to turn various things on and off) I also played a bit in the building editor screen (still get most of the options as in a normal game) or set yourself up a sandbox for testing bits out on.

The new terrain editor seems a bit awkward to start, but it gives good results once you get the hang of it.

Well i have water and possibly have had the whole time but you just cant see it, the reason i know its there is because there are ducks swimming im my craters. Any ideas how i can 'see' where my water is

Thanks, Nicki

hmm...

Could be a gfx problem, Have you got latest drivers for your card & have you gone through the gfx options in game?

I know theres options for reflective water etc, but i dont know if theres an option to completely turn the water off? worth a look :-)

Seems strange how ducks are swimming on it etc but you cant see it :-(

You could try a re-install of RCT3 if all else fails incase it was an install bug :-( ?
