Hmmm.... i found out a way to get all of the scenarios unlocked without cheats, which will remain untold for now anyway, and quite honestly the last one's boring and unless you really wanna complete the game 100% then you can still try. I'm stopping now when i only have 13 beginner level completed and 1 enteprenuer completed, because i found out that the 17th scenario was stupid, dumb wrecked coaster, and the last one was very dissapointing to be the last one if you see what i mean... anyway i wouldn't bother if i were you :lightbulb

it would be good to unlock all parks, but i'll resist because it will be more of a surprise when i do unlock them.

Rachee - are you sure you have the full retail update? As I know this was a bug in both the initial release and the first accidental patch release. (the one with the missing extra firewroks displays)

If so have you tried starting the park from new? - or worst case scenario even a new profile?

Because as one of the bugs was to do with items being in the wrong place - a saved game would still have them - (cos your save game keeps its own inventory for items included - whereas a fresh one should have only the itmes as per patch 1.

Also - (cos I managed to crash this a number of times myself) This game 'really' doesn't like spliting rides and coasters (what I mean is - in RCT 1 you could split a really big go cart ride or coaster into two) - same goes with shortening rides - you 'have to make sure you don't end up with a lone stretch of track disconnected from the rest (i.e. you start shortening the ride from one end and then the other- leaving a section to delete at the end) - cos if you do - it has a high chance of crashing. I only say this cos originally I tried to split the two go-kart tracks into 4 and then (when that didn't work) I tried halving them - I did the latter in the end but only after a lot of hassle carefully deleting bits and rebuilding as I went.

At present I am only upto Fright Night - with my new profile as I am taking my time - taking them as far as I can
(it ain't as if we have dozens as per RCT 2 & 3 and there aint no megapark - so I doin't see the point in rushing) The scanrios also show you (roughly how you should approach sandboxes without slamming your box into reverse an d acting like a doorstop. (i.e. med sized parks without over mixing the theming - the more you mix the harder it is on your gfx cache.)

Thanks, yes discovered only have original patch usa version. When I try to install the proper one now it tells me rct retail blah blah not there !!!! AAHHH does this mean I have to uninstall and re install and lose my 90.7% complete ! Help. thanks.

you wont lose your progress at all, it just removes the game (think it asks if you want them removed, just say no), campaign and save game stuff is left, so upon reinstall you can just carry on as usual :)

As Aarek says you won't lose your saves (you can always copy your rct3 folder from my docs just to be sure) - but yes you will have to re-install - I would still start chequered flag from scratch though - as your save game could be corrupt
Notes: some pc's dont seem to like the little r (registered circle) in the install path - if I was installing from fresh I would remove it (so it goess something like c:/program files/atari/rct3/
Also some seem to find it easier to install the patch from the desktop (i,e, save the patch to your desktop and install from there - you can always move it later)

The full patch makes quite a diference (so much so - it is what made me restart the scenarios from scratch - as the game was now 75% more playable)

enjoy

I have the same problem with the flag scenario. I have the final EU patch installed on my PC, but the scenario keeps crashing after 10 sec - 3 min. I tried to delete al present rides but it still occurs. I installed the patch before playing RCT3, so this is not a problem due to an old profile.

How can you check which update is installed on your computer?

Anyone ideas on how to solve this one?

Quickest way to check you have the full EU patch I can think of is to see if you have more than one firework display available (the bugged patch didn't give you the other three)

Or- load a park with peeps in and hover over the park rating - iff you have the full patch you should get a tooltip that gives you full breakdown of the rating + each figures description (i.e. Happy, Rides etc.,) whereas the bugged patch only gave you a list of numbers.

Seems odd if this1 scenario is crashing post patch from a new game - the big (from what I understand) was an obscure object in the origianal map that was repaired in the 'full' update .

In which case (and I know this is a pain) but IF this is the only scenario it is crashing in - (it was the only one with a crash problem - anything else is a diferent problem) I would be tempted to un-install and re-install (don't worry it won't lose your profile) prefferably without the ® in the destination path (i.e. C:\Program Files\Atari\RCT3\ rather than C:\Program Files\Atari\RollerCoaster Tycoon® 3\ and download install the full patch again.

I think I don't have the full patch installed (don't have the fireworks and only the list of numbers in the park score), what should I do??

Where can I download the full patch. (I cannot download it from the atari server; the download just doesn't start...) I've read that the patch can only be installed over a clean instal. Is that right?

try the EU links from here:

http://www.frontier.co.uk/games/rct3/faq.html

and yes unfortunatley I belive you will have to uninstall/re-install - (the part update was for the beta beore that one) but you should not lose your profile - however i would strt maps from fresh & not save games
