It's too tough to tell which faction the US units belong to (either Army or TFT), but here are some units I've seen as well as a brief description and image to go along with them. All the purposes I listed are pure speculation.

Vehicles: US Faction(s)
Humvee (http://users.wpi.edu/~lemue/aowhumvee.jpg)
Purpose: Transport, light anti-infantry
Notes: Probably only holds a couple of guys, they may or may not be able to fire out of it while it's moving. It may also have an upgrade or two available for it.

Avenger (http://users.wpi.edu/~lemue/aowavenger.jpg)
Purpose: Anti-air
Notes: Similar to CCG: Zero Hour's Avenger, but without lasers.

Bradley Fighting Vehicle (http://users.wpi.edu/~lemue/aowbfv.jpg)
Purpose: Transport, heavy anti-infantry
Notes: This probably trades off transport slots for firepower and armor. A mix between the Humvee and APC

APC (http://users.wpi.edu/~lemue/aowapc.jpg)
Purpose: Unarmed Transport.
Notes: Doesnt appear to have a weapon, probably holds the most guys.

M1A2 Abrams (http://users.wpi.edu/~lemue/aowabrams.jpg)
Purpose: Main Battle Tank.
Notes: Probably the US Army faction's heavy armor unit. I dont see Task Force Talon getting this. They probably have something slightly different.

Apache Helicopter (http://users.wpi.edu/~lemue/aowapache.jpg)
Purpose: Primary support aircraft, anti-infantry, anti-tank, anti-building.
Notes: This looks like it's a very versatile unit. If it's anything like the Comanche from Generals, it's going to be very powerful and very useful. I dont think AoW features any buildable planes. The planes appear to be used as special strikes on recharge timers. In any case, the planes will probably have to fire and reload at the base, whereas the Apaches will more than likely just reload in mid air after a certain amount of time. That's why they're the main support aircraft. They can stay in the field like a tank can.

Blackhawk Medevac Helicoptor (http://users.wpi.edu/~lemue/aowblackhawk.jpg)
Purpose: Medical Transport
Notes: This is probably a vehicle to be used for quick extraction of your units to get them out of a tight spot.

Vehicles: Terrorist Faction
Basic APC (http://users.wpi.edu/~lemue/aowterrorapc.jpg)
Purpose: Transport
Notes: Probably holds several guys, similar in specs to the US APC

Medical APC (http://users.wpi.edu/~lemue/aowterrormedapc.jpg)
Purpose: Transport, healing
Notes: Probably holds several guys, similar in specs to the Basic APC, but either heals guys put inside it or in a radius around it. The medical thing might be an upgrade from the basic APC.

Upgraded APC (http://users.wpi.edu/~lemue/aowterrorapcupgraded.jpg)
Purpose: Transport, firepower plat form
Notes: Im not too sure what this one's purpose is. It looks like it should be anti-infantry. The gun may be an upgrade, or it's a seperate unit.

Hind Helicoptor (http://users.wpi.edu/~lemue/aowhind.jpg)
Purpose: Possibly a transport as well as anti-infantry, anti-tank, and anti-building
Notes: Similar to the Apache, though probably slower, more expensive, and more heavily armored.

Unknown unit (http://users.wpi.edu/~lemue/aowoddunit.jpg)
Purpose: anti-air
Notes: I've seen this in a couple screenshots and it seems to be part of the terrorist faction, though in the parent screenshot to this crop I made, it's fighting Hinds from it's own faction. It appears to be bullet based rather than rocket based like the Avenger.

Main Battle Tank (http://users.wpi.edu/~lemue/aowterrormbt.jpg)
Purpose: Main battle tank
Notes: This looks like the terrorist's main battle tank. Probably useful against the Bradley and the Humvee, but the Abrams ought to own it pretty hard.

Those are the buildable vehicles I have noted so far. Dont know what the infantry will be like, but it will probably be fairly diverse as this game centers around urban warfare (which explains all the transport vehicles). As there are supposed to be over 100 units among the three factions, Im sure there are more units the current ss arent showing. It looks like there will be basic rocket soldiers, basic infantry, and snipers. Ive noticed at least these three types of infantry in the screenshots.

Nice work! :) That unknown unit looks like a mix of the Russian ZSU anti-aircraft and the Russian Tuguska (both AA vehicles, one bullet based, the other rockets and bullets).

I think that's because it just fired a shot and the flash lit the unit up, making the texture look brighter than it should be.

Thanks, but I have to say when I saw the list I couldn't believe that the F-23 is going to be a terrorist (Consortium) unit. There aren't any screenshots, but Ipicked up this month's PC Gamer and it's got the F-23 in it. When I saw it, my jaw dropped because the model/skin looked awesome, but it blows my mind that they would give that to the "other" side.

If they're trying to balance things, they should keep the F-23, but it stays with the US and they could give the Consortium, Russia's SU-27 or SU-34. Hell, I've read in defense journals that Russia's even considering selling the Backfire bomber!! They could include that and that carries a heavier load than the F-23 could.

Maybe it's a mistake? Hopefully?

No real point in updating the list now I guess, since this info is readily available.

btw AGM are you gonna make a AoW replays site?

If so I will happily be a GM or Admin if you're feeling generous :p ;)

speaking of replays, will AoW have them?

AWW man no buildable aircraft???? They should allow buildable aircraft, but at lieast limit them to maybe 2 jets per player, or something, I love controling planes. PLEASE AoW MAKE BUILDABLE aircraft but limit them to a very small limit, it would OwN that way. Maybe the "special ability aircraft could be like an A-10 or B-2 etc, the big bombing planes could be used that way. But please give us 1 or 2 fighters!!!

That unkown unit is a dutch "Cheetah" and is already in use and is an anti air unit (I think).

From what I've seen, aircraft are unbuildable from a certain point of view. No, they won't be stationed on the map. I do, however, believe they will be able to be built. I've seen counters on the aircraft, suggesting you can buy aircraft. Buying more of a kind of aircraft would give you more, so there would be more chance the cooldown would be up (aka, like superweapons in Generals). In this sense, aircraft technically can be built ;). At any rate, I think it is more realistic and welcome. Buying aircraft from off map to me probably ends up being better. Airfields are too big... Plus, it also makes you use your ground forces instead of just pounding with air and nothing else.
