AWW man no buildable aircraft???? They should allow buildable aircraft, but at lieast limit them to maybe 2 jets per player, or something, I love controling planes. PLEASE AoW MAKE BUILDABLE aircraft but limit them to a very small limit, it would OwN that way. Maybe the "special ability aircraft could be like an A-10 or B-2 etc, the big bombing planes could be used that way. But please give us 1 or 2 fighters!!!

It would be nice, but I've got a sinking feeling that aircraft are going to be considered special powers/abilities. I was also hoping you could control A10's or even the F35's that they've shown in the screenshots.
I'm guessing they will be buildable on an airfield (which would support maybe 3-6 planes) like in generals. I dunno where everyone is getting the idea that they are only special attacks :S
Maybe, it is like on generals where you get the Generals Points (A10) but you have to buy the planes rather than get the Generals points as you do in Generals?
That would be cool

Based on this screenshot (Great english translation btw. It's AIRCRAFT not AIRCRAFTS :P)

It looks to me like they are buildable. HOWEVER, because there is a limit to the number that can be built, they are probably extremely powerful and behave like mini special attacks. It will be interesting to see how they work though. I hope USA's play style wont devolve into camping and lashing out with those planes. I have a bad feeling that well be seeing upwards of 18 Generals' style A-10 strikes. Nothing would get near you.

I think they will be buildable, but not on the playing field. I've not seen any airfields or anything, and with city combat being the main theme, there just isn't room for it. Aircraft will most likely be buyable and you will be able to call them in for air strikes when a specific aircraft's cooldown is up. I don't know, however, if once they are on the field if you will be able to control them. More likely, from the screenshots I've seen, they will just hit their target areas. I'd rather see and A-10 go on a run from one point to another using missiles and cannons to take out enemies, but that might throw off the balance, although it would be more realistic. In the end, not having to have airfield will probably be better, and seeing more ground battles will be nice. That is the real reason why they won't be buildable and controllable on the map. Eugen is attempting to generate more ground battles. And, as seen in real life, you don't always have air support right at your call, and most certainly not at your base, at least not air force aircraft anyways. Maybe Marines do, with the Harriers and now JSFs. So, looking that way, Task Force Talon might have some Harriers/JSFs that can be controllable, but I doubt it.

I agree with 5* gen. The reason being if you look at the screenshots all the units seem to have control functions such as guard, attack, in some cases exit, but you don't see any controls for aircraft, except for helicopters. So most likely it's like 5* says, you control where the aircraft will strike as in a special power like in Generals.

A-10's will never do wat it did in the screen shot... what type of engines and wings do u think they have?
They should add the buildable planes to the game but you can only own the crappyer ones so u can't overpower the enemy too easily, it will definately be better with full control over airpower bcuz they have such good things in there, but the game won't be balanced then.

In that screen shot it says 9/9 slots, does that mean there will be an airfield with nine hangers? Also it says aircrafts, isnt the plural forrm just *aircraft*? just asking

I guess we'll have to cut them some slack, they are French. Regarding the hangars, read the rest of the thread. Most of us seem to think the aircraft will not be buildable, but they'll be on call. Purchase them and they are at your beckoning call, once in the area you can control them to strike a certain target and then they leave (my guess).

Do you remember the USA missions in CCG Z.H ? There is one in which u have to destroy a Gla base on a hill i think. But on the sea there are some airplanes on the battleshipt. U can can't control them, but u can tell them where to attack.
So its possible that its like the A10 in Generals, but the time between the attacks is not that long...

A-10s actually might do that. If you think of it as being that the A-10 is flying around and an infantry unit points a laser on that area, and A-10 would drop that load right there. That's how it is tied in realistically. By the way, they won't be on Aircraft carriers, with the exception of 1-2 campaign missions maybe.
we should pay homage to RA2 at this point for still being the only new good RTS with aircraft and navy's that actually does it well, all pray for a good EE2 because I found the first one lacking slightly, biuld loads of stuff and charge, thats how to win.
BRING ON RA3!!!!!!!
