Hi there.

I have just been to my Friends House and Installed him a GF4 MX 128mb DDR Graphics card. It was out of my Computer because I got an upgrade.

He got RT3 for Christmas and was unable to play it cause he had a TNT2 Card and the game told him he couldnt play it. Anyways, after I installed the GF4 Mx card, we got RT3 going. Its currently running in 800 x 600 with many things set on low. Its in 32bit, no Shadows and Compressed Textures - however, the texture setting is on full.

It was all good untill it went dark lol. We couldnt see anything and the lights on the game didnt seem bright enough to do anything. The only time we could see was - when it was Thundering...

My Graphics card is a 5950 Ultra and I play with everything on high, but when I just put my graphics all on low - even the res to 800 x 600, the lights still shine bright! Is this a Problem with low end cards?

Is there anyway I can push the game into Directx 8 through a console command? Or will the patch actually do something?

Thanks

Lee

that can make a huge difference.

make sure you remove the old drivers properl
(especially if he had an ATi Card!!!)

Okay, I installed the 33.66 Drivers which came with the card. I had no choice because he doesnt have the Internet.

If its something this simple, I will be so amazed mate. Thanks for your help.

PS. I unistalled the other drivers he had on there first, then removed is old card...

agree with Trafman - especially on making sure old drivers are well and truley gone.

It is someitimes surprising just how much diference to many things updated drivers solve.

Another option (if you only have dial up) is sometimes to keep your eye on some of the PC mag disks - not sure (cos I haven't bought one in an age) but the better ones often used to include latest drivers for all the main items.
