Is there any way to make videos of coasters?
I noticed there was that Photo Story program included with the game, but judging by the title, its for photos and not for videos. Also, if it does work with Videos, how to you get the data from the game? I guess i could use animation shop, but last time i did that, i have 200 frames for a 6 second video clip, and to get those shots i had to advance the replay (it was in Nascar 2003) 1 frame at a time (which took almost an hour in total!)
If all else fails, could you let me know a program that i could use to make an mpeg of my design!
Steve
i think there is a programe called fraps that will do it.
let us know if it will

Hmmm, well i downloaded the demo, but it reckons it only does 30 second movies, in an uncompressed format, unless you register :(
Any others?

Why don't you just tell us on the forum? And how did you find out how to do videos when you started the topic? (very suspicious)

spoke to friends on irc
You need to use fraps, and if you come on msn or whatever, il let you no how it works :)
If you press CTRL-SHIFT-F11, you will start recording action in RCT3. It will probably reduce your gameplay to a shuddering crawl, but the videos are fine (though silent), especially if just used for coaster cam. Stop recording with the same key combination, and find the video in an "RCT3" folder in the "My Videos" folder.
Or is everyone talking about something else?

ooo, i didnt no that.
Il give that a try later. I think the rest of us are talking about an external video capturing program!

I tried the game recording thing and the frame rate was about 2fps! It comes out OK when you play your footage on WMP though. But somethng that took you 1 minute turns out to be 3 seconds of footage. And I have a high end PC!
Try not to move the camera manually either, as you'll get a very jerky effect in the finished vid.
Are people finding an external capturing program is more friendly to the frame rate?

Hi, I do know of an old peice of software that does an 'ok' job.. the sound recording is low but it can record up to 60 frames a second i think.. anyways its at the PC Plus downloads section, its called 'ScreenCorder' and best of all it doesnt leave any watermark at all!- Click here to download it (http://www.pcplus.co.uk/downloads/default.asp?pagetypeid=2&articleid=5640&subsectionid=370&subsubsectionid=31)
Also; If you want to edit your footage like put music on it, credits, opening titles etc, Look in your start menu with windows XP and look for Windows Movie maker - Most XP users have it included on their H/D
..Hope i helped

Well, we've been using fraps which works great and is smooth as a daisy when you actually play it (despite it saying its 10 fps in game!)
Problem is you can only do 30 second clips. However, there are programs that can merge avi files, so you could always do, say, 4 sections seperately and then merge them all together at the end!
