I would love to see more animations in RTS games like what we've seen in C&C with ( rapelling infantry, cocking weapons, ejecting pilots. Sweat animations like these make the game more realistic and fun keeping thing moving with action even when things aren't moving. Even gives a sence of motivation or if things go bad a sence of lose. Anyway I think more animation would make RTS's even better. I just happen to have some picky ideas.

Lets say a tank could have an option of switching to its 50cal machine gun but instead of the tank just firing bullets. The top hatch of the tank opens a guy comes out cocks the weapon then starts firing.

Or when loading/unloading a humvee or APC the infantry would accually use the doors of the humvee or the ramp of the APC. ( The driver side door of the humvee would never realy be used cause it just makes sence unless the humvee was distoryed then the driver could swing it open baleing for his life.

heres another thought maybe infantry after firing a 3 round burst 7 times thats about 20 rounds could take a sec to reload

Or features like when its cold out side and your zoomed in you could see an infantry units breath even frost on tanks of when raining the wipers on a humvee would work.

Now before some of you get all negetive remeber this. They laughed at Ford when he thought up the automobile. They laughed at the guys that came up with the airplane and now we use both of these thought up realities in every day transportion. My ideas as far feched as they may or may not seem I just hope that one day they will help transport us to a super sweat, great looking, realistic and fun filled RTS game.

I say set the bar push it to the edge shoot to excel make the impossible possible.

Great idea but those with computers that can't handle those kinda animations i feel sry for ya.

Thats why I'm making sure this comp will be upgraded when summer starts :)

ya..it will be cool if the animetions in AOW will be like in ground control 2 (thos awasome grafics.......)hell,I could even see the faces of the infentry in GC2 ! and that game ran so smoothly on my friends old PIII 800 mghz/GF4 128 MB/512 ram.just unbelivble..and in order to run generals smoothly a super computer with 2 gigs of ram is needed(BTW,generals lookes like ****,and ZH had even shiter coding,if that is possible)I just hope that this game will look great and run great(like codename:panzers phase one!):p:

By the way, for the vehicles to be able to use different weapons w/out switching them, enter Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War. If the physics, animations, gameplay in this are anything like they are in that this will be a very good game.

1 thing, Generals, considering the age of the engine, is actually quite good in graphics terms, although cripe compared to others. Those animations would be cool, hard to run, but cool. I still think B&W 2 sounds more advanced but maybe this will compare well. Fable looks good though, says something for B&W.
