first post on this board.. this game looks very good i must say, i can say im looking forward to this, can anyone tell me if there going to be replays an stats of this game like in c&c gen?
stats suck. For some reason some very ill people think that their stats matter and disconnect and stuff so their stats look good. I know these people should be shot but they aren't so they will use some kind of trainer or DC method to avoid stat loss which sucks.
This game just needs a decent 1v1 and clan ladder.

Agreed, it shouldnt keep track of stats at all. It just leads to cheating and disconnecting. A supported 1v1 ladder and a supported clan ladder is what it needs to be great.

Not really, I completely support the choice that EA is making for Battlefield 2 in that each person has a Dynamic growing character that can advance in Rank and Earn Medals. I know that it will keep me coming back to play more and more of it. Plus EA really guards the BF Series with tooth and nail. So hopefully all that needs to be instated is a very strict no cheat policy.
Stat's create the wrong type of game play, poor sports and sore losers. Not to mention C&C's medal system how twisted is that? An airport only holds 4 jets/bombers so if you have 4 jets occuping 1 airport that means to earn the 50 jets built medal you have to build at lest 12 more airports all with jets or have distoryed 46 of your own jets/bombers. What kind of ojective is that? How do even accept a medal like that? Stats no. Medals would be cool but medals like a purple heart and to acceive this you have to of had 50 or more units repaired or healed. Forcing you to value your units instead of being awarded a medal for replacing lost units with new ones. Maybe even a 50 sucessful flight runs medal and to acceive this a jet must take off deliver its payload and safly return to the airport. I think honorable hard to earn medals would better show the skill of player you are. Opposed to stats on the # of battles won.
Oh and i almost forgot Battelfield 2 & RTS's are to different types games cant compare the to cause were one feature could work for one type of game it might not work for the other.

Really? Their Different? WOW THATS NEWS TO ME!!!!! :rolleyesa :rolleyesa :rolleyesa .
Anyway, thats shows that stat systems work if the creator is willing to watch over their creation to ensure that the few don't ruin it for the many. You make it sound like cheaters are always "Out There" if thats true, just play with friends if your so distrustful. Plus stats are just a neat little extra boble and take hope in knowing that the person cheating on you must not have much of a life outside the game. BFStats before they had to close down because of lack of funds had some of the best dynamic Award and Ranking System there was and getting the Bronze Star showed that you were one of the best players in the game (Top 30% Percent of the Players on the Servers that supported the system, which was a good number of them.)

By the way, you only needed 24 airplanes for that medal (and I've HAVE gotten 50 anyways, but the medal is for 24). My views on stats: Do it the exact way WCIII does. Custom games don't affect your stats, but regular games do. The problem with Generals was the fact that pretty much only the games with stats turned on were filled up, and this basically meant everyone had to play stats if they wanted to play. I like Blizzard's way far better, although it is almost impossible these days to find a regular game under the no-stats custom section, you can still make one if you want and people will come.

i almost forgot that i've posted here,.. hehe, yeah stats must be handeld very carefully and should be monitored well or else u would get what cymru said a lot of sore losers, we had it in like every westwood game i've played.. but well see if atari is (hope) better in giving full support to their customers.
Stats are fun but they should be more detailed and less detailed, bare with me here. They should be things like how many tanks you have destroyed in your life time and so forth, going down the road of giving you medals for winning games was silly and a bad move by Westwood (Damn EA for stealing them). It makes people quit constantly in losing situations, personally I stay to the end, even if I get panned, it's still fun to see how long you can pee 'em off for by not dieing and being stubburn. But there should be a bit more detail in the stats page not just how many guys you killed. Thats my veiw.

Yes, I love scrabbling out an extra 15 minutes out of stat games when a better player gets the jump on me. If he wants those points he better damn well know I'm not going to roll over and die for him, I'm going to make him earn it! :coolred:
