rollercoster tycoon 3 help urgent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hi all i have recently just purchased rollercoaster tycoon 3 game which is great the problem i am having when i am playing the game after about 10 mins my laptop decides to turn it self completly which very annoying i have tryed disabling all backround tasks and lookinf through windows xp help and support which is no use nor ornment so if any one out there as any ideas why my laptop is doing this i can get back to this great game!!!!!!

Could possibly be a heat problem _ RCT3 is a meaty game and laptops are not known for their cpu cooling capacity

I will move this to the tech support thread where one of the guru's might have more ideas

might also help if you post your system specs so they know what you have.

Do you have a temp moniter on your graphics card or cpu?

compaq presario 2100 laptop pentium 4

2.4 ghz
512 mb ram
20 gb hard drive
windows xp professional

radeon graphics card

any further help much appreciated laptop is only 6 months old

My (rather tired) thoughts at this hour are to drop all the settings down to their minium, just to see if it affects the laptop. (it'll look ugly mind :lightbulb )


The other thing is, does your laptop have an auto-off function if it gets too hot and is it venting hot air before it shuts down?

hi all many thanks to everyone who emailed me with there help,ive managed to sort out my laptop with some kind help from compaq helpdesk,if your computer turns it self off or crashes try this to fix it:

flash the bios make sure you have got the latest update direct from the manufacturer.

change your video memory settings which you can find when pc starts up press f2 to get in to the settings under uma video memory you can increase your memory which i have found out you need to do as this game requires a lot of memory and system resources.

anyway after may hours of messing around i am now playing the beautifull game in all its glory!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
