hi all many thanks to everyone who emailed me with there help,ive managed to sort out my laptop with some kind help from compaq helpdesk,if your computer turns it self off or crashes try this to fix it:

flash the bios make sure you have got the latest update direct from the manufacturer.

change your video memory settings which you can find when pc starts up press f2 to get in to the settings under uma video memory you can increase your memory which i have found out you need to do as this game requires a lot of memory and system resources.

anyway after may hours of messing around i am now playing the beautifull game in all its glory!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do yourself a favour and also look into getting a 'decent' laptop cooler mat ir even better a notebook fan (like the one AKASA (http://www.akasa.com.tw/) does) .

Laptops are not known for their freezerlike cooling capacity (unless you play in the local meat freezer :lolblue: ) and serious sytem user progs (i.e. apps that use a lot of system resources) generate a lot of heat.

I have seen laptop cpu's melt (figurativley speaking) due to overlong useage running too many sys resources. True they are better today than they were a few years ago - but a laptop is still not designed to run like a desktop.

Just personal opinion and advice.
