Direct x9 problem

Please help! i have just installed rct3 along with direct x9 and rebooted as requested.
After clicking on desktop icon to start i get an error message 'DirectX9 not found', click ok to try to continue or exit. click on OK and i get error box ' performed an illegal operation, this program will close'

any ideas?

Managed to sort it..

I had a corrupt video card file, so reinstalled, works Ok, just a bit slow!
