Hi, I'm new here, and I tried running Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 on a computer with 384 mb of RAM, 40 gb of hard drive, and an intel pentium 4 1.7 GHZ of speed.

Which by the way, isn't really great. -__-'

But what I'm "really" concerned about, is using a ProSavage DDR driver as my video card, by any chance does this video driver work with RCT3? Because I tried it, and whenever I click on a ride so that I can build it, the whole game crashes, and I'm stuck there unless I reboot my computer . =/

What graphics card do you have?

A Prosavage DDR. =/ lol - Says in my topic

It's an S3 prosavage DDR with 32 mb or vram.

(Which isn't alot, but it meets the minimum requirements. ^__^ )

I've got an S3 on the mainboard of my server - it runs counter strike OK, and UT 2004, but they don't use the cutting edge graphics card killing amount of detail that RCT3 runs - I suspect it may well be below spec.:frownblue

Oh really? You have an S3 Prosavage DDR too? Does it run RCT3 well, without crashing? Because every time I try to build a ride, the whole game freezes and nothing happens. Then I have to restart the whole computer. Have any ideas why this is happening?

I haven't tried RCT3 on it -but it looks like you are not entirely alone with this chip restarting your PC. Have a look HERE (http://forums.devshed.com/t110545/s.html)

I can only concur with one of the guys in the thread- make sure your DX, motherboard agp driver and video driver are up to date. You could also try changing the amount of RAM your S3 uses - in the BIOS, I think it uses 32MB by default, which is not enough to run RCT3. But like I said -I honestly don't know if RCT3 supports this chip anyway

I just visited the S3 site - they have had to release an individual patch for Half Life 2 for their chips, so they may well be stuffed by the graphics sucking abilities of RCT3. There is a list HERE (http://www.s3graphics.com/chromozone/) showing the games the S3 chips support. RCT3 is NOT on the list. Sorry mate:frownblue
