View Full Version : DirectX9
I especially bought a ATI RADEON 9200 with 128MB to be able to play RCT3. I installed the card and all of its drivers on a recently installed system with an AMD 1.7 GHz Processor, 512 Mb. I even reistalled DirectX9 two times to be sure but still the game doesn't start. I only get the message DirectX9 not found.
Getting pretty frustrated. Anybody know what to do about this?
Right click the desktop and choose Properties, Choose Settings - Advanced - Troubleshooting, check that the slider for Hardware Acceleration is all the way over to the right. Other than that, I can't help, but its something to check.

Hi,
Can someone help me please. I have bought Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 and I am unable to use the game. It says I need to download DirectX 9. I did this but the game still does not work.
It says that I have the correct requirements to run the game, but it still does not work.
I downloaded the demo from Atari web site and that would not work either. It also says that it cannot find DirectX 9
Please can someone help me??
It is driving me nuts!!
Many thanks for any help received,
Pauline.
Post your system spec and we'll have a look....... :respect:

Hi Fluxx,
Thanks for replying and here is my system information.
Operating System: windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600)
Processor: Intel (R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.00ghz, ~2.Oghz
Page File: 143mb used, 324mb available
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)
DX Setup Parameters: Not found
DxDiag Version 5.03.0001.0904 32bit Unicode
DxDiag Notes
DirectX Files Tab: No problems found
Display Tab1: Hardware - accelerated Direct3d 9 is not available because the display driver does not support it. You may be able to get a newer driver from the hardware manufacturer
Sound Tab 1: No problems found
Music Tab: No problems found
Input Tab: No problems found
Network Tab: No problems found
Do you think that the problem is because of the
DX Setup Parameters not being found??
Or is it because the display driver does not support it??
Do you know how I would obtain a new display driver if I needed one?
Have I given you enough information about my system?
I would like to thank you for all of your help, in trying to help me solve this problem, regarding DirectX 9.
Many thanks,
Pauline. :mefiant: :mefiant: :mefiant:
Or is it because the display driver does not support it??
Ya, that sounds about right, but you failed to mention who makes your graphics card. There are traditionaly 4 makers of 3D Hardware, their names and driver pages can be found below. Remember to remove old drivers before installing new ones:
ATI (Radeon 85xx, 9xxx, X8xx, X1xx Series)
ATI Catalyst Driver's (https://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=894&task=knowledge&folderID=293)
Nvidia (GeForce 2, 3, 4, FX, 6, 7)
Nvidia ForceWare / Detonator XP (http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/winxp_2k_81.95_uk.html)
Intel (IExtreme 810*, 815*, 830*, 845*, 852*, 855*, 865G*)
Intel (IExpress 82915G* and it's many variations)
Intel Graphics Driver Suite (http://www.intel.com/design/software/drivers/platform/)
S3 (S3 Unichrome / Unichrome Pro IGP C, K and P Series*)
S3 (Deltachrome S8, Gammachrome S18, Chrome S25 / S27)
S3 Graphics Driver Selector (http://www.s3graphics.com/en/resources/drivers/index.jsp)
*These are integrated graphics chips found on motherboards. RCT may support some variations of these chipsets, but gameplay is generally accepted to be un-playable. I would advise you to upgrade!
Thats quite a list, hope it helps. Please let us know what graphics card you have tho...

Hi,
I have had a look and maybe this is what you are talking about??
Driver Name: SiSGRV.d11
Driver Version: 6.13.0010.2050 (English)
DDI Version 7
Driver Date/Size: 12/10/2001 17:52:48, 163200 bytes
Hope I have got this right this time??
Many thanks,
Pauline
Im guessing from that youve got an SIS/S3 chipset............which, although Im loathe to be the bearer of bad tidings, means that it doesnt support Hardware Transform and Lighting............which RCT3 needs to run..... :noooo:
I get the feeling that rcs2k4 is right and that you would have to upgrade to a proper graphics card in order to run the game..............sorry :noooo:
[FONT=Arial][SIZE=4][COLOR=Red]hi im new not sure wat happens here but it cool i nono aniting about this so culd some 1 tellme plz (im a boy) :) :) :) :p :bravo: :atari: mdr1

This thread is for people who are having problems with their graphic cards. You want to post your thread in the rollercoaster 3 section. Have a look at the forum rules and that will help point you in the right direction.
If you read some of the threads people have posted you will see that they are either posting hints for the game or are asking for help with a problem or bug in the game.
This is the general format of what goes on here.
