View Full Version : WinXp Error message AFTER completing a multiplayer game...

There something strange going on with this game: I've completed the single player campain without problems, so I decided to try my luck online.

I can play ONE full multiplayer game, but after that game I get 2 choices: either logout, or a "next" button.

When I press "next", it says "downloading profile info" or something like that, but nothing happens. I can't get back into the game lobby's.

If I choose "Logout" the game crashes with the known error "This program has generated an error and..."

So now I need to restart my game after every multiplayer game... :cry:

Other games using gamespy (Battle for Middle Earth, Zero Hour etc) are working just fine.

Any ideas ? :confused:

yea me 2 the same problem here end som tyms i dont see mi mous pointer also so i have 2 alt tab end then go back in game end then i have the mous pointer back .... :weirdblue

Same here Geo. I reinstalled the game 3 times but it still acuring. Dont know what to do. Our best bet is to format.

i had this problem too. But now i cannot login . 2 problems :madred:


goto " \Atari\Act of War - Direct Action\AOW\Save\P0" and delete all auto save files then you can login!!!
hope for you that you have saved the game manual too :D

Same here Geo. I reinstalled the game 3 times but it still acuring. Dont know what to do. Our best bet is to format.

You must be joking ! I'm not gonna format my HD and loose 250GB of data and progs !!

All other games run just fine !

I don't use the winxp firewall... I use Kerio Personal Firewall and the game has full access to the internet...

Solution:
-Install Microsoft windows XP pro/home with ******SP2*****(MUST)
- then install the game...
- do not download patchs form the internet explorer....
- double clik on ACTOFWAR.EXE and go to online and it will tell u that u need an update for a patch.. clikc ok and download it .. <<--- thats the best working and safest patch here...

then defrag ur computer and restart and enjoy
