Ok, this time i'm going to be more specific, maybe it helps other people as well.
i have the original game ;-)
hardware: amd64 3200+, winxp sp2, radeon 9600
installing and running the game just works fine.
applying patch2 results in "original dvd not found" or something like that message.
it doesn't crash at all.
i read all the threads and tried to:

- disable NX security as mentioned in thread http://www.uk.atari.com/third_party/forum/showthread.php?t=6255

- setting compability to win2000 for ACTOFWAR.EXE

- replacing ACTOFWAR.EXE with the securom fixed version
http://www.securom.com/support/cust...22/actofwar.zip
(whith this executable it just crashes when launched)

respectively http://www.securom.com/support/cust...64_actofwar.rar
(both to be found in thread http://www.uk.atari.com/third_party/forum/showthread.php?t=8208)

nothing works for me :-(

if i patch witch patch 1b (v1.03)
and replace ACTOFWAR.EXE with this file:
http://www.securom.com/support/customers/atari/actofwar_t022/actofwar.zip
it works for me.

the question to me is why they didn't integrate this fix into patch2....
so now we will get an updated ACTOFWAR.EXE or a new patch with the integrated fix i guess in some near future...
