Hey, I've bought the game only yesterday and I've tried everything I could think of - including uninstalling various burners and emulators such as DaemonTools and Nero and clean-reinstalling the game - as well as other suggestions I could find here (Such as setting the game to Stereo mode and disabling hardware sound acceleration in DxDiag) but I still can't find anything to help with this.
First of all, whenever I start the game it gives me an error message that the disc was not found on Drive G - but that was an emulated empty drive and the DVD was in my DVD-ROM on a different drive letter. I pressed "Continue" (Since there was a "Continue" button) and it started the game so I thought everything was okay. Then I uninstalled the emulators, uninstalled the game, rebooted, installed the game again and it *STILL* said the disc was missing but this time it said "drive ." since Drive G didn't exist anymore. The game plays excellently except for the movies.
I played an Engagement skirmish first and it worked fine, everything all well and dandy and I've never had problems playing any kind of movies or DVDs on my computer (The only codecs I have installed besides the Windows Media Player ones are FFDShow and DivX), but the movies in the game are always out of sync with the audio. It starts normally but slowly the audio gets more and more out of sync, up to a delay of even 8 seconds on the second mission's movie after you get your men to the gate.
I've got a P4 3.0Ghz HT, lots of free space, Radeon X800 XT, SB Audigy 2 Platinum Pro, Win XP Pro SP2, and 1024mb of DDR2 533Mhz RAM. My DVD can't be the problem because I've never had any problems with it, and it's rather new (Bought it six months ago, an ASUS DVD x16 combo drive) and nothing is running in the background except my antivirus, firewall and the radeon drivers. (I've tried shutting down the firewall and AV, it didn't help)
So, umm, because the movies are pretty important to the storyline, and this game has *lots* of movies... Help, anyone? :(
