View Full Version : At random points, my monitor goes into standby mode!

I am running:

AMD 64
GeForce 6600GT
512 Ram
LG Tft monitor
(obviously other parts lol!)

The game installed with no issues. Runs with no issues. But the monitor just goes into 'power saving mode' when it feels like it. It is a common problem with other games, such as C&C Generals and Battle for middle earth. But Doom 3, Counter strike condition zero and XIII are all fine.

I am thinking that it may be an issue with the data being sent to the monitor?

Any help will be greatly apreciated.

Thankyou, Nick.

Well, to me, it sounds like there's a "problem" in the power menagement in Windows settings stuff. Go to "Start" > "Settings" > "System" > "Power Management", on the first page, choose "Shutdown monitor" > "Never" !

I hope I could help you and don't wonder about the instruction, I've got the German Windows version and just translated into simple English, but shouldn't be a problem.

Wait, wait, wait ... :o:

It worked for a while?

Before you switched the process to "Never" what did stand there before?
Check if it is still activated; sometimes, it might switch back after rebooting.

Sounds like your PSU might not be up to the task.
If it's AGP try setting the AGP to 4X instead of 8X if that helps
then it's more than likley the PSU.
