ShadowMoses kept on talking about some bloody add-on back awhile ago. Is it true or just some rumor? I can see Atari sucking money out of customers like that, though.

Nearly every game ends up with an add-on, and if not an add-on then a sequel 6 months later.

Could see Boiling point getting one, would be nice to set up your own "gang" and take over, build a stockade, your own business etc.

Well an Addon for this would likely contain: (basing this on morrowind)

A new area
New missions/errands
More weapons and vehicles
More/new enemys (likely to be animals)
A new faction(maybe)

But of course all these dont require an addon just look around forums and places for non Total conversion mods(not that anyone will have the patience to make a TC mod)

how can there possibly be an add on when the developer has already moved onto another project, atari has made it clear that they don't intend to effectively support the game, it's chances of commercial success (exempting Russia) are basically doomed (at least from my US perspective), and it already has the reputation for being a buggy, half baked piece of ****?

Deep-Shadows have stated before that they wanted to do an addon, and they basically promised that it would include CoOp multiplayer.

If the addon does actually get made, I'll definately buy it. I figure that Deep-Shadows are my second favorite developers now - next to Bethesda.

Is the rumored add-on real?

Well it's only "real" once it's officially announced but it has been planned for well over a year. There has been a russian competition for the plot for it was ages and ages and actually i think the competition has ended.

Whether we see the add-on or not is probably entirely down to whether Atari want to or not.

I hope it does get officially announced. I think Boiling Point has the potential to be the next Morrowind. :)

Yeah the potential is definately there, it all depends on whether Atari want to stop language! ;)

______
And this is the last time I say it. Watch your language. The age range here is 11-50 year olds. The rules you accepted when you signed on clearly stated use of language/swearing. Tenebra

It pretty much depends on how well the game sells (as obviously your going to need the original to play the addon), and if it doesn't sell well theres a limited market for an addon-pack.

By all this bad publicity its getting from glitches and performance problems I fear the worst :frownblue . I remember the 'promised' multiplayer patch for Mafia which never came, and this case sounds similar. Which is a shame because this would be great fun for Co-op play across a LAN.

so tell everybody to buy it!
