BOILING POINT – PATCH 1 INFORMATION

TEXT
No more text message remains onscreen after a phone call.
Enemy declaration messages are now opportunely displayed.
Hint messages are displayed on time.

MISSIONS
CIA Faction : missions are no more rewarded when not accomplished by Saul.
Suicide guy mission : once Saul fails this mission, it disappears from the mission list.
Minor problems which led to impossibility to complete some missions are now solved.


GRAPHIC
Graphical issues during the character's death animation scene or NPC's animation in cities have been fixed.

SOUND
Minor sound issues such as voiceover looping are fixed.

CAMERA
Minor camera issues which were noticed during the tests have been fixed.

CAR
Problem of user's car which rarely remains stuck in the environment or which location was not properly displayed on the minimap are solved.

Option do properly display for any taxi mission.

LOC
Localization : mismatch issues have been fixed.

MINOR ISSUES
Police station cannot be destroyed by a crossbow anymore.
When Saul drops one item, only this item disappears from his inventory.

IMPROVMENTS

Crashes : some rare crashes (hardly reproducable) were noticed throughout the game, and especillay when loading the quicksaves. This has been improved a lot with the patch as no crash occured.

AI : NPC's behaviour has been improved in this patch version. Some examples are as follows : NPC now avoid obstacles when moving, reply when being shot at, animation and position are correct.

It's all our fault, if we didn't cry for the patch maybe they would have worked on it...WRONG! That's what they know some of us will think but deep inside they know they are just lazy artichokes

Unless, Atari bursted into their office saying "Hurry the BEEP up! Everyone is waiting for the patch!!"

Either way, we've been "pwned"

I still enjoy the game though but this is just wrong! :sour:

PS: Size: Not specified What the hell is wrong with them!? It's 77.7MB people. No idea why that big....maybe there is a surprise waiting! (I dunno yet, I am still downloading *YAWN*!)

So far patch doesn't solve worst bug> the 40mb save crash, (although mine started at 32mb and has got progresively worse).

Many others have this too. how to deal with the 40 MB crashes? (http://www.boiling-point.net/index.php?forum=2&x_action=forum/phorum.php?read,1,11521)

There is a work around saving only out in the jungle or on the road as I now can't save in any town, base, camp or settlement without it crashing. even saving in the middle of nowhere doesn't always work... it's like having an extra difficulty setting above very hard :D

im lucky my quicksave works fine surpisingly
i think in the patch they should have speed up the cars there too slow makes the game almost as tedious as Evil Genius

i dont think its fixed my bug though :frownblue
it makes the game impossible you cant look at a searchable object or you will be frozen in time *fun as the rest of the NPC arent*

I've just downloaded and installed the European patch and now when I try to start the game I get this message:
Original disc could not be found or authenticated.
I click OK and of course the game doesn't start. I reinstalled the game - from the original disc, and it works fine, then I install the patch again and it doesn't. There's no problem with the disc - maybe there's something wrong with the patch???

i got the same point as you. i use the first yellow car till now havent changed any car yet but cant continue to play this game cause of car disappeared after taken a mission to hijack another vahicle. all my items put inside the car and its overload if i carry them all.
now really looking forward for patch 2.

Does anyone really think this patch is worth it? I don't want to mess up my progress so far by applying it if its not really going to do much.

back up your saves if your worried. Worst case senario is that you have to reinstall

I installed the patch and now it keeps asking for the BOILING POINT DVD so i can't play with the patch and if i play unpatched sometimes when i die i don't go to hospital i stay where i am and the NPC's don't attack and i can't talk to them to finish my mission, but i can kill them and take all what thay got on them, now i gotta wait for PATCH 2 :madred:

I've just installed the patch and I'm getting the same problem and some other people are having the same problem also. I think this game was released way to early and needed more development time. Atari are the worst publisher for releasing buggy and unfinished games. My only thought is wait for another patch to fix this patch and if you can do with cars disppearing and other bugs, run the game without the patch for now.
