Still wont launch pre or post patch

double click on the bp game icon, little egg timer appears for 2 seconds then nothing. Tried looking in the game folder for some clues as to why this thing won't launch , installed ati 5.5 driver - still no response from the game disc. Nothing unusual in windows task manager, anti virus software disabled...

Anyone know why this game won't work. I've had it over a week an it's doing me bloody head in !

this problem is most likely caused by "rage3dtweak"

just open task manager, close down "gameutil.exe"

i was desperate before too, but someone found it out on boiling-point.net :)

Any help or a point in the right direction would be appreciated, I've just paid £30 for this game, and it doesn't even start, I've tried installing the patch then loadin it, but it still does bugger all. Just how bad is the programming on this game, I knew it was bad but I thought it might still be an enjoyable game, this is just horrific not being able to load it up.

The start up problems are most likely linked to the copy protection... nothing to do with the programming....

anyway, have you fully updated all your drivers and installed patch 1.1?

I've updated my graphics drivers, I don't know which other I should update. As for the patch, I downloaded it, but I just noticed, when I click on it, it says it cannot locate boiling point Europe retail.

did you previously have the US patch installed ?

you could try putting it in the same directory and running it

Otherwise, reinstall then apply the 1.1

No, I have a European version of the game, I thought I'd installed the 1.1, but I hadn't. Whenever I try to install it, it can't find the game installed, but the game is installed.
