View Full Version : Retuned Boiling point
I have taken this game back to GAME(UK). The game runs fine on my sys (with the occasional unexplained freeze), but as i have gotten further into the story, the game has become more lame, and now i have taken it back for a refund.....im gonna get BF2 instead. Shame on you ATARI. I think we will see this game in the "Buy 3 games for £20.00 section" soon enough.
Its not worth £35.00 or $50.00USD

The game is awesome in my opinion - it runs perfectly, and it is full of great gameplay. I hope that it doesn't become a bargain bin game - it deserves way better.
I thought the game had great potential, as I really enjoyed the FARCRY world, and thought that this would be similar. But the AI IMO isn’t very good, and its this aspect that lets the game down, especially when most of us will have played against AI in games such as DOOM3, SP Chaos Theory, GTA SA.
A great vision for a game poorly delivered.
On a separate note I think ATARI are churning out glitchy games because they are under time restrictions. I have noticed that when many of their games hit the market there are a few or allot of bugs.
I beta tested Act of War, when the game came out, again it had one or two bugs, and the over all feel for the game was very much Command and Conquer, but with bad acting.
Now I know ATARI employ hard core gamers like us hard core players to build these games, but id rather wait longer for a game like boiling point, than to be let down initially by a poorly released version.

I agree MP, I have only 2 recent Atari purchases, Boiling point and Rollercoaster tycoon. Both were released with glaring bugs and problems and needed to be patched within days of release. It does seem to point to a "put it out on time no matter what" attutude.
i tried to bring it back to pcworld and they wouldnt take it back. they said it was a software problem not there problem.
Retribution.

im not being funny CELTIC but you've got to make it their problem, PC world are notorious for this so dont let them get away with it, your well within your rights to take that game back.

i thought GAME (uk) stopped all cash refunds for PC games, they'll let you trade it but no refund
unless you told them that the game made you reformat your HDD
not that i would ever say such a thing
Its the law that any new game you buy from a shop can be returned if you don't like it or its faulty. well for 30 days at least

Not if you don't like it...
The Sale of Goods Acts lay down several conditions that all goods sold by a trader must meet. The goods must be:
of satisfactory quality as described fit for purpose
If your machine meets its minimum spec and it doesn't run, then the product isn't 'fit for purpose' and they are obliged to refund if you return it soon after purchase.
all u say is it didnt run on my pc works for me as long as u have the proof you brought it from that shop and it hasnt been over 30 days
