I have re-installed the game, re-installed windows, turned of AV, Firewall. Disabled RAID, disconnected non needed devices (yup my CDRW and other HDDs). Ran with + without modified game.ini and still no joy.
Ive tried the game with both European version and US retail (my mate imported his so hed beat our release date grr) but it still doesnt work. Ive tried with both patches (US1 and Euro1.1) and even gone so far as making image rips of the damn game and tring with a NOcD in the hope it might make a difference
It wouldnt be such a big deal if it wasnt for the fact that the day i got the game it worked perfectly and i was playing it for a few days then all of a sudden i got problem after problem so tried all the above in a vain hope to rectify whatever was causing the hick-ups.
If anyone has any fix for this then fair play, hats off to you and i owe you a pint! If not any ideas are greately apreciated. If i hadent lost the reciept i would be taking it back and getting a refund by now even tho i know it CAN work. Please save me guys PLEASE

I can't help you, but I crash with that same excuse, so at least you are not alone. My crash also comes after about 5-10 mins of gameplay, and I feel like I have tried everythin, I even send a mail to support. All they did was to reply with an excact copy of the FAQ!

Yeah, me too. :(

Well, sort of. Very similar, except my EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION is in "module verender2.dll," whatever that means. Like you two, this happens about five minutes in, and nothing I do about it seems to help.

And, yes, before anyone says it, I have made certain I've got the newest DirectX drivers, the newest Catalyst drivers, etc.

I would love to be able to play this game some day. It looks great!

Just wondering if you guys are running xp, seems people had the same issue you guy are having with pirates, and most of them were running win ME, sorry can't help much, the only thing i did to get this crapper running was in 'dxdiag' and made sure evrything was whql approved and that the soundcard acceleration was completely off. Sorry again.

The game crash,s for me too,i just get a blue screen, and have to manually shut down my pc,happens within 2/3 minutes of play,my other games run absolutely fine,no problems at all,the games on my system at the moment are,
HL2
RTW
GTR racing
PE soccer4
Cross racing, demo(had a slight problem with this, changed sound settings ingame,ok now)
battlefield 2
Doom 3
Seems like i,m not the only one to have wasted my money, shame,i knew it was buggy before i bought it,but after reading a few reviews i had high hopes for it,am dissapointed,in the game, and in Atari for letting it loose on us beta testers

Nah. I'm running Windows 2000 Pro, and, I assure you, this is a full-fledged commercial copy of the game. It's legit. But I'll give that tip of yours a try, see if it helps. Otherwise, I'll just put this one back on the shelf, and play something else while I wait for the inevitable recall.

no no no LOL!! I never meant you guys had pirated versions of windows, i meant the ATARI game "Pirates", it had pretty much the same error during that game and it seemed to be due to the OS.

Oh, oops. I thought you meant pirated versions of Boiling Point. ;)

Pirates! worked flawlessly for me, right out of the box, the day it hit store shelves. So, no dice there.

Oh well, thanks anyway. Off to try turning off hardware sound acceleration!
