Hi,
I get a similar problem as someone below, when i try and run boiling point I get the following error in Xenus.exe:
"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc000001d). Click OK to terminate"
This error comes up twice then that's it. It does this regardless of whether the dvd is in the drive or not, it crashes before it starts at all in anyway!
One of the suggestions in the other thread was that it could have been to do with their rage graphics card, however I have a GeForce FX5200.
I believe the problem may have been sorted for the other guy because no-one else is posting on that thread, I thought it would be actually read if I posted it seperately!
This is a highly frustratin problem, it doesnt say its incompatible or anything, and the fact it doesnt even start a loading screen or really give any pointers as to the cause leaves me staring at a brick wall from the start!
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks
Chris

if problem is quite similiar better to post a reply to the other thread .

but i did today a list of all hints that seemed to help peoplöe with their different problems :

1) The game is not running in 1028x768 mode with full-screen aliasing on
GF4 Ti4200.
Possible factor: bug in video drivers version 71.89.
Solution: install the video drivers version 66.93.

2) try this:
1. Go into Game.ini file find 'DISABLEAVIPLAYER=0' and change 0 to 1 then save. This disables intro movie.

3) there are lots of different things you can disable in game.ini !!! so make sure to read as many threads as possible, guess some editing of game.ini will run the game , more threads to find at technical board on www.boiling-point.net

4) BIOS doesnt support SSE instructions.
My advises are:
a) use software which will enable SSE support.
You can use wcpu31a.
You can download wcpu3a from this webpage.
http://www.chrinet.com/jboard/?p=de...oom&id=5&page=2
b) or try install new BIOS

5) you need 512mb ram to run the game i think

6)Try ending any processes that you don't need running... i think there is a conflict with a Rage3D thing... do you have that?
however i read often about people that finally got it working with ending processes , but careful some processes are needed to run XP , XP will restart if you end those

7) install patch 1.1

8) 2. Go to 'Run' enter dxdiag, go to sound tab, then 'hardware sound acceleration level' set it to no acceleration, exit then.

9) there is a troubleshooting guide released by atari on this page, click on the patch link, not sure if its any help

10) continue asking specific questions

11) put game away and wait for patch 2.0 which maybe releases next week already

and read my Boiling Point review , nice screenshots over there hehe

Thanks for the post,
I haven't tried it all yet, I think I may just have to do some serious upgrading when I finally get a job (though the ram is the only thing I'm low on, sounds like thats quite important though!)
Thanks again,
Chris
