I hear the US version (Indigo Prophecy) has some cut content due to... who knows? I would wonder if anyone knows - what was cut from the game?

I would also want to make sure that I don't have the US version. Yes, yes I know what you'll say "How can you not know what version you have? Where did you buy it?". Well, I ordered it from a european site, where it was cheapest. But I don't know who their supplier is so I want to know "for sure" that they don't sell the american version. How do I find out?

If you bought Fahrenheit.. Then its the European version, if it says "Indigo Prophecy", then its the US..

There was a simultaneous release date, so there's no reason for any european stores to try and sell the US version..

There are some *shock* 'nude' scenes in the game, some of a 'sexual' nature eekblue: , but you have to be quite clever and/or determined to get to them :respect:

I've got Fahrenheit. So it's european then. *sigh of relief*

The nude scenes are rather tame, I can't imagine what could have been cut... americans sheesh...

There is one scene that I couldn't quite believe they'd put in a game...

Have you found the one with....
Tiffany and Lucus in his flat?

Yeah...
click to thrust! He he, that one kind of took me by surprise as I sat back to enjoy the movie, but then I saw I had to act and act faster and faster but it got so fast that I don't know if the 2 protagonists finished "their thing" or I failed the thrusts... but to me it seemed like they finished... So I don't know if there's anything more to it than that - sure I agree that it was rather graphic, but no more than what we get in some movies that go up in the cinema. Anyway, usually, how scenes like this are handled in games is: the screen goes black and some distinct sounds can be heard, much like Tyler and his girlfriend very, very early in game, nothing is shown on screen. But Lucas and Tiff are on screen and seem to enjoy each-others company.
So Fahrenheit really pushes the envelope here, I guess. Well, they did a good and tasteful job with it. We shall see where it will lead.

Going by the UK censors at the moment, it would've been my guess before release that the UK/Euro version had the rude parts chopped (pardon the pun) but for once they let them stay! Especially after the whole hitman 2 debacle!

What was the Hitman 2 debaucle? You definitely have to tell me. Was it about the entire murder concept, or because someone had a see-through nightgown in the game?

There was a mission in which you had to kill...... a certain religious group, lets say, some of the public was outraged by it and was immediately pulled from shelves over here in blighty while a new version was made without that mission!

I guess the witch hunting will never end... rolleyesa Human beings seem to be keener on blaming anything and anyone else rather than applying reason.

I must say, that my favourite GTA3 activity... (heading up to the hills and taking pot shots at pedestrians until the police turn up, then blitzing them with an AK) became somewhat less amusing after the "petrol station sniper" in the states :noooo:

Games can give people some stupid ideas, but society as a whole is responsible for morals and social values rolleyesa

Bah, you deserve the wet sock for the above statement, Undie *slap* tonguegre

Do ya really think that criminals need to find their inspiration in games, with all the real life rubbish and the ultra violence on television? :mefiant:

Well whats next? Pulling FIFA and Pro Evo for inciting hooliganism? Any game that features a gun to be pulled as it will incite gun crime further?

Theres a fine line between whats sensible and whats insane andcensors and indeed the public seem to be hopping over it and back again all the time!

I think you missundertand me... I'm not suggesting that games are anyway responsible, just that the similarities made me feel somewhat cold inside frownblue

I don't tend to differentiate between TV and games, they're both entertainment mediums that can deliver violence directly to the living room.

Its not the exposure to this that really affects people. In fact, in my opinion, viewing ridiculous violence, tends to make me more aware of the vunerability of the human machine. Yeah, it is that easy to cause someone gratuitous pain, but would you really want to do it weirdblue

There is something just *wrong* with society if this makes people want to emulate what they see, but then they could just as easily try and copy what the see on the daily news.

Deviants have been commiting attrocities since way before TV / Film / Games have been around.

Exactly. I've never been subjected to almost any kind of censorship by my parents as a kid or a young teen (well, apart from the obvious explict sex, which is fair enough), watched horror films and killed aliens since I was a little girl, read whatever the hell I wanted and look at me... tonguegre

...don't you dare! weirdblue

I've always used games as an escape from reality, not to give me ideas on what **** i can pull on unsuspecting people.

I'll never play football professionally and thats why i play FIFA and pro evo.

I'll never shoot someone and thats why i have GTA!

I dont break the speed limit..........ahem.........so thats why i have GT4!

I dont take what i see on film, tv or games and put it into practice!

Having said that, after an extended session on 'Need for Speed: Underground' I really shouldn't be allowed to drive a car for several hours...

Well, not with passengers anyway... poor souls tonguegre

Hahah! Weirdo's!

I think I'm going to stick around for a while. I like the game and this seems like a nice enough place... although the white is doing murder to my eyes...

Good! bounce:
Cause you're doomed to be stuck here like us forever and ever and ever tonguegre

Honestly, this is quite a nice place, lots of nice, intelligent and fun people. There is quite a bit to do if you want some action, from the randomness of the Off Topic (http://forums.eu.atari.com/forumdisplay.php?f=138), where you can be as wild as you wish and maybe join the online CS battles, or the ongoing Galactic Wars in EoCo (http://forums.eu.atari.com/forumdisplay.php?f=127) (great fun :aie: )
