View Full Version : Save the boy in the park
Hi,
Just of curiosity, as I did not try all possibilities yet ...
Is it possible to carry out successfully the "Saving the boy from the water" scene in the park if the policeman saw you in the bar? I went out the front door, he did not stop me or so.
I tried several things, being quick and also slow, but by the time both of us is out of the water, the old chap is there and arrests me telling "this is the man from the bar" or whatsoever.
I just don't want to spend hours finding a solution when there is any, so I don't expect clues only would like to know if I have to start over or keep thinking and trying?

It is possible :
You have to save the boy completely.... dive in, swim to the bottom, grab the kid, swim back up, get out of the water and administer CPR (just walk up to where the kid is lying and perform the actions at right time).
Then the cop and Lucas stare at each other, but the cop just lets him walk away
Note: You DO have to do it within the time.

Well, the problem is that on the PS2 version of the game there is no onscreen display that shows you what buttons to press when trying to CPR the boy !!!
It is shown in the PC-Version of the game that my friend has, so this seems to be a serious bug in the PS2 Version !!! :(
After trying several times i managed to save the boy, but this is still really annoying and very bad QA !!!

I'm sorry if you're having problems, but I'm playing the game on a PS2 and there was no confusion over what was needed...
My girlfriend also played that scene and had no problems with it...
It shows you what to do at the start, and you just have to repeat the action at the correct time. :mefiant:

That's strange. I get the selection between checking the boys heartbeat and CPR after i got him out of the water. When i select CPR, i only get a text readin "press now", but no information what and when to press. After a short while i fail if i do nothing. I can try again until the time runs out, but never get any other info onscreen. I am playing the UK-Version btw.

It's slightly intuitive, I must admit. I wasn't really concentrating properly when I got to that scene, and I thought I was done after saving the kid. I missed the first prompt, but if you pay a little attention it's not too hard to guess what you're supposed to do. Wait for the count to be over each time.

Have you tried putting the volume up a bit? Lucas definitely counts to 3 :mefiant:

you can do another thing.. there are always other solutions!

sooooo easy.. so you can walk from the park and leeeeeeeeave "like the song"
yes, it's true! i've done that after completing the game for the first time, you can just ignore the kid and let him sink/die without helping him at all.
just walk away and leave the park.. Lucas will say few words about it.
bad lucas.. bad me.. hehe.. Cheers!

You have to wait till Lucas counts to 3 then do the action if you do it before he fails.
If you save the kid, later the cop from the Diner comes and explains to Carla that he saw you save a kid, and he couldn't bring himself to arrest Lucas. He then apologises
1..2..3.. PRESS THE BUTTON... Repeat until alive. :)

yeah on the ps2 you have to flick the right analog stick eitherup or down it makes moes sense for it to be down.
