Button bashing problem

Hello,

I'm stuck in a chapter where you can't continue any further without doing the button bashing. It's about 70% far in the game. In the spoiler area I tell you where I'm stuck.

It's the part where you just saved the Indigo Child from the Oracle. You hide in a room, where you encouter Agatha. You get the choice of handing over the child to Agatha, or not. I chose not to trust Agatha. Because of this, Agatha changes in the Cyborg, who is trying to kill you. Now you have to do the button bashing.

The point is that I can't succeed the button bashing, and I'm already stuck at this point for two days now. I really hate that button bashing, and I think it's the only point of criticism to the game.

Do you guys have some tips to overcome this part? I can't get the slider above the middle, it's even very hard to get it to the middle. And I really want to go further in the story.

Its not really bashing, as you don't have to really really bash the buttons to suceed. weirdblue

Just get the rhythm of "one then the other", in most sequences I've seen (I haven't got as far as you have) its the duration of the action that counts, not whether you can get the bar to the end of the meter. tup:

What platform are you playing on (PS2 / PC / XBOX) ? :mefiant:

PC. I reconfigured my controls to WASD for the first PAR, and the direction keys for the second PAR. So, when I have to play the "button bashing" game, I have to use the A and D keys.

Is it possible that some storylines are more difficult to achieve then others?

The only thing I can think of is to make sure that you are pressing and releasing the buttons cleanly.. i.e. not pressing the right button, untill after you have released the left one... :)

On the PS2 is very much a rhythm thing, not bashing, but it does get knackering.. how did you manage in the gym scene when warming up for the kick-boxing?? :mefiant:

As I said before, I've gotten through so far without having to bash really fast, just keep it steady. tup:

(maybe as a uber-leet-cyber-ninja-gamer-dude-haxor-type-person, my idea of fast would blow your socks off - but I really, really doubt it :p )

I'm on the xbox version and all I do when it's time to hit L and R, I just like hold the pad and throw the pad at my fingers :) My fingers hurt near the end tho :)

It just wont work for me! I decided to start the chapter again, but now choose another storyline. But now I can't get behind the attacks of the Oracle anymore.

What's the point now of that bashing? Is it to tap the keys in the rithm the arrows flash on your screen, or to have a constant rithm, ...? I don't know anymore, but it's very annoying. I played that part almost 20 times now. Grrr :mad:

its just left-right-left-right-left-right...... obviously bashing the buttons hard doesn't make any difference.

You've just got to keep the rhythm at an acceptable speed... I think the keyboard on the PC must make it a little more tricky though :mefiant:

The main problem I had with the 'bashing' was that its starts very quickly, at the bottom end of the scale, if you miss the start, its over before it starts.. weirdblue

The actual bashing didn't seem any harder than the other sequences.... :)

Well I managed to do this first time, although I did have some problems with a couple of earlier ones the ones when Lucas' appartment is attacking him.

Today I succeeded to avoid the attacks of the Oracle again. But now I'm stuck again with the Cyborg. :cry: Does there exist a cheat to go to the next chapter? tonguegre
