Hi, I'm having trouble with my PS2-to-USB controller on the PC version of the game.
The game keeps registering the right stick as being in the last place it was when an action was performed. For instance, if I've just pressed it up in order to open a drawer, and let go letting the stick fall to neutral, the next set of actions will look as if I am still holding the stick up until I move it, even though the stick is centered.
I can work around this with the actions, because I can just move the stick a little and it springs back to neutral. The problem comes in the action sequences. I can't see where the stick thinks it is, and so I can't correct the problem. I can hear the actions failing, even though I am moving the stick in the right direction at the right time.
Is there some option to have the game think the stick is always in neutral position every time the action changes?
I'm pretty sure this problem is with the game itself because I have never encountered the problem anywhere else and I have no other controllers plugged into the PC.

Crikey, I have no idea. :mefiant:
As yet noone else has admitted to playing the PC version with a joystick / gamepad. eekblue:
If there is a generic problem with input devices, then we've yet to hear about it, if not, then its probably an issue with the software that supports your PS2 controller. weirdblue
Have you tried searching for an updated driver ?

I've had another little go at the game and I've found that it's only the vertical on the right stick that's messing up.
If I was the geeky sort, I'd suggest that this is yet another example of the "slider" issue that seems to plague UK joypads. When you map a standard 4-axis joystick's axes onto a modern 2-stick joypad, the standard US option seems to be that the X, Y, Z-rotation and throttle axes are used, while in the UK, it seems the "slider" axis is used. All of the other axes of the joypad are being reset when a new set of options is presented to me, it's only the "slider" axis that isn't being reset, presumably because QD weren't expecting anyone to use it as a joystick axis (though why, I don't know. I've known of the issue since I first got hammered by it in Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance).
As it stands, I would assume that I'll either have to wait for a patch to resolve the issue, which is unlikely, for the simple reason that if they didn't know it was happening when they coded the game, they're unlikely to find out in the near future, or some kind soul will be able to tell me how I might go about reconfiguring the axes of the joypad itself.
But I'm not the geeky sort, so I'm kind of clueless at this point, I suppose. frownblue
I'm using the same controller on the PC.
Haven't got the problems you're experiencing so maybe it's the controller itself?

I'm having this same issue with the right controler not working properly, and it staying up if I press up, and no recentering. The converter I have is the following link http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?cookie%5Ftest=1&catalog_name=CTLG&product_id=26-304 and I have no probleming what so ever with any other games I play with it, which I play alot =) .. I also use this same controler on my PSX, from time to time when wanting to play with some older games and all, so i know it's not the controler. The slider thery seems right, sence if I play certain space games, it considers it the slider, and thinks is FULL throttle, when I press up at all. and vis versa. Hope this does get fixed, or that someone comes up with some way around it, becasue it's rather anoying otherwise.
i use an old PS1 (non vibrating) gamepad with a usb adapter and i never had a problem. The controller worked awesome throughout the entire game. Not a single glitch. Not sure what to tell you. i use the usb adapter that's shaped like a triangle and supports two pads. Not sure of the brand though... i bought it off ebay a few years ago for $10 and it came without packaging or anything.
