Hello everyone.

I'm having slight problems with the fight with The Oracle on the roof after getting the Indigo Child. Everything goes relatively smoothly for a while, but when Lucas is getting his butt kicked by The Oracle and the action buttons appear, despite having pushed them perfectly, it always ends with me losing.

There isn't even a visual indication of Lucas getting the upper hand in the fight, he just keeps on taking the hits.

Is there a trick to this that I'm missing?

What? Um, just bash all the buttons, put 4 fingers on the arrowkeys, 4 on the numpad. Barely have to look at what's happening. I don't enjoy these "reaction things". I have good reactions, I just don't find it much fun to test my reactions by pressing a button when a light comes on... 5000 times in a row.
Hehe, I just watched the fight and spammed away on the keys "Great" everytime. Don't press them at the same time though, your keyboard can't handle that much input most likely. Press all the 8 different keys u have your fingers on really fast but in succession.

I guess this won't really work if you have stubby and slow fingers though.
You could stick the game on easy as well. I didn't have to.

I sometimes pressed all 8 buttons one by one during one light flash :p good think you can press the good key along with a wrong one and still get it right.

Thanks for the replies.

Just tried it again, and no dice. Normally I'm pretty good with this kind of stuff. I've passed the previous bashings with flying colors, but this one part just won't work. I even tried switching the difficulty down, but no.

Guess I'll try to beat my keyboard into a pulp next.

This is the 4th time I'm trying to get over this fight. I always fail when it comes to pressing L1 R1 (on PS2), when I have to jump over that helicopter. Damn, my forearms are hurting.. lol.

Its all about reaction speed and rhythm....

If an old man like me can do it at 1:30am after several beers and some wine, you guys should be able to manage too. tonguegre

For the L1<->R1 actions, start before the scale comes up on the screen, so start 'bashing' when it says 'get ready' tup:

It's just strange... Everything goes smoothly up until that part. I don't get a single one of those 'wrong button'-sounds, and when The Oracle keeps punching Lucas, and smacks him into the ground everything goes black and I get the "That's how my story ends..." speach.

Very confusing.

Heya

( Beware, spoiler )

I have the same problem with the PC Version ... everything goes smoothly till the Oracle smacks Lucas down ... he smashes on the ground and - over. Altough I press all buttons at the right time. No 'wrong Button' sounds or anything else. If I hit all buttons at the same time, it still don't work.

Sorry, but I dunno how to censore the spoilparts. :/

i have the same problem somewhere else, i hit the buttons right, then at one part, i get bad results, (EVEN IF I GOT THEM ALL RIGHT)
and then i fail and start over

i got frustrated and stopped punching the buttons after the 7th try or so, and i passed through the place

it seemed that the game was bugged and when i succeded in getting a great, i failed, and when i failed, it was as if i got a great

so play until the part when he just gets beaten down, and start failing that part, maybe it'll work

A couple of things you can look out for as mentioned set difficulty to Easy, check your Video, sound and motherboard drivers for the lastest drivers.
Reason being is that the game has been reported to lag during visually dynamic scenes (like the fight scenes).
So that when your pressing buttons it looks like you are doing in time but if your sound or video is lagging that creates a new dynamic.

If you need any help with drviers, ask :)
