Had a couple ideas that really helped me as I have never played a console or adventure game before.
The 2 most annoying frustrating problems where the controls and the save game problems, here are my solutions.
On the controller issues, after massive frustration I realised the problem (at least for me) was the mismatch right and left hand controls when playing a mini game.
So I kept the arrow key as they were (they were as compact and close together as possible) and decided to change the Numpad key to match them identically.
I changed the up (num8) to num5, num4 to num1 and num6 to num3, this not only keeps your hands very close and in duplicate formation but makes it easy to switch to the second minigame formation quickly (taping right and left quickly).
Second your save games are stored in My Documents/Atari/Fahrenheit Profile (name of your login) with a .dat and .idx.
So what I did was, after massive frustration (hehe once again :) ) everytime I saw a load screen/red dot save, I stoped the game went to Fahrenheit Profile and made a new folder ( I used A-Z sequence with a general ingame description, halfway thu the game once I reached Z, made a new folder called FirstHalf and move A-Z and started over with A-Z again) and copyed the .dat and .idx to my folder.
I realise my second suggestion is going to be controversial after reading several post, but I am very comfortable with using this, while new to console and adventure games I am an experienced PC gamer and in the PC game world most any developer that tried to push a game without save system would be almost universally be chastised publicly by gamers and gamesites alike.
I certianly accept that console or adventure games could be different but I would still dissagree on many levels.
First would be gender isolation, if this is the norm then dev's will certainly kill off adventure games for all but diehard fans, due to confusion and frustration it wuld be almost impossilbe to reach out to new gamers from other genders.
Second would be whether a gamer is taking a break from work, school or watching the kids, reality is that things come up in RL and you need to save.
Being forced to constantly replay or memorise exact movments over and over can easily be seen as a manuliption.
Speaking of PC games in this rguards it removes the feeling of immersion due to not being able to save progress based on individual playing styles, which is a direct link back to the first reason.
Anyhoo hope this helps some PC gamer frustrations and enables you guys to more enjoy this game, cheers!! :)
