Crash on start up

Just got this game for the pc and every time I try and start up I get a message box saying:

Failed to create Direct3D object.
Call stack:

then lots of
00057BE4

and
Abort Retry Ignore
appears at the bottom as the options to select.

Reinstalled direct x 9.0c and it works now. Time to give the game a try!

Need help..i got the same problem...starting the game and it crashes with an error call stack...plz help...i reinstall my directx 9.0c already...updated my motherboard and graphic driver..but still no change...help!!
